DeathMatch 11: Guidance Rite
In this game you must will read your opponent and claim the right pieces, then command then to defeat your opponent in a Best of 3.
This game is played on a 5x5 gameboard. It starts filled with a different selection of pieces for each of the 3 bouts.
This game takes place in 2 phases:
The Claim Phase: Where the pieces are assigned between the 2 players.
The Battle Phase: Where players move their pieces to capture their opponents pieces.
Before going into these in detail, I will describe the pieces used in this game.
Pieces
Every piece has 2 features, arrows and a character.
There are up to 8 arrows which indicate the valid orthogonal and diagonal movement for the piece.
If you move a piece to an occupied space, it captures and removes the piece that was there. You may capture your own pieces.
Pieces cannot move off the edge of board (unless stated).
These arrows can be augmented by the special characters.
These characters are the Rat, Crow, Lizard, Guardian and Monster.
It is possible for a piece to not have a character, and for a piece to lose its character.
You may only take 1 action to "remove a character symbol" per turn.
Please state the coordinates of the piece you are choosing on top of your normal move if you decide to take this action.
===================================================================
Pieces without a character can move 1 space in the direction of one of its arrows.
Rat
A Rat can move 1 space in the direction of one of its arrows.
After a Rat moves, all arrows on the piece rotate by 45 degrees clockwise.
During any move where you don't move a Rat, you can choose to rotate all of a Rat's arrows by 180 degrees. Doing so removes the Rat Character.
Crow
A Crow can move 1 space in the direction of one of its arrows.
A Crow can also move 2 spaces in the direction of an arrow as long as it lands on an unoccupied space. It can jump over other pieces.
When a Crow moves 2 spaces, the arrow for that direction becomes "Greyed out" and it can no longer move in that direction.
During any move where you don't move a Crow, you can choose to remove the Crow character from a piece to bring back the Greyed out directions as valid moves.
Lizard
A Lizard can move 1 space in the direction of one of its arrows.
After a Lizard moves the corresponding arrow is removed from the piece.
Once a Lizard piece has no more arrows remaining, it gains 8 Arrows one for each direction.
During any move where you don't move a Lizard, you can choose to give a Lizard an Arrow in a direction of your choice. Doing so removes the Lizard Character.
This cannot be used on Lizards with at least 6 Arrows.
Guardian
A Guardian can move 1 space in the direction of one of its arrows.
A Guardian can move off the edge of the board to appear on the other side. (as if the board is looped)
If a Guardian captures a piece when it does this, the Guardian Character is removed.
During any move where you don't move a Guardian, you can move a piece onto the Guardian's space to swap places. Doing so removes the Guardian Character.
Monster
A Monster can move 2 spaces in the direction of one of its arrows. It cannot jump over pieces.
A Monster can move 1 space in the direction of one of its arrows, but doing so removes the Monster Symbol.
During any move where you don't move a Monster, you can remove 1 Arrow from a piece Orthogonally adjacent to the Monster. Doing so removes the Monster Character.
===================================================================
The Claim Phase
At the start of each bout a new 5x5 will be presented.
Each space will be occupied with a different piece, which feature different combinations of arrows and characters.
Players will have 2 minutes to review the board and devise a strategy.
After this time is up, players will have 1 minute to privately submit 2 coordinates of unclaimed pieces.
After which if a player was the only one to name a coordinate they claim that piece as their own.
If both players claimed the same piece, that piece is removed from the board.
This is then repeated until there are only 2 or fewer pieces remaining.
When this happens any remaining pieces are removed from the board.
If this process caused both players to have less than 3 pieces each, players will place a "+" or "x" pieces until they each have 3 pieces.
These pieces don't have a character and either have arrows in each orthogonal (+) or diagonal (x) direction.
These must be placed on unoccupied spaces orthogonal to already claimed pieces, but not orthogonal to the opponents pieces.
(If there needs to be more that 1 piece placed, this is done in waves, 1 piece at a time per player)
Once both players have their pieces we move onto the Battle Phase
Battle Phase
In Bout 1 the DMO will decide who moves first. Players then alternate turns moving with a 90 second time limit.
In Bout 2 the player who went second in Bout 1, will go first in Bout 2. Players then alternate turns moving with a 90 second time limit.
In Bout 3 players move simultaneously. If 2 pieces move onto the same space they are both removed. Players have 2 minutes per turn.
If you run out of time or have no valid moves you will pass your turn.
If you pass your turn three times in the same bout due to running out of time, you will lose the Bout.
If you capture all of the opponents pieces, you win the Bout.
In the event that we enter a "drawn board state" the player who has the most pieces is the winner of the Bout.
In the event of a tie for most pieces, we check who had more pieces most recently.
A drawn board state is when either of the following conditions are met:
This is based on host discretion, but in general this won't trigger until at least 10 turns have passed for both players since reaching 3 pieces.
The first player to win 2 of the 3 Bouts wins the DeathMatch.

Final Match 3: Guidance Rite
In this game you must will read your opponent and claim the right pieces, then command then to defeat your opponent in a Best of 3.
This game is played on a 5x6 gameboard.
Arrows can either be Black or Grey. Black arrows can be used repeatedly. Moving in the direction of a Grey Arrow removes the Arrow.

Crow
A Crow can move 1 space in the direction of one of its arrows.
A Crow can also move 2 spaces in the direction of a black arrow as long as it lands on an unoccupied space. It can jump over other pieces.
When a Crow moves 2 spaces, the arrow for that direction becomes Grey.
During any move where you don't move a Crow, you can choose to remove the Crow character from a piece to convert either:
3 Grey Arrows from single piece to black, or 2 Grey Arrows from different pieces to black.
Lizard
A Lizard can move 1 space in the direction of one of its arrows.
After a Lizard moves the corresponding arrow is removed from the piece.
Once a Lizard piece has no more Black arrows remaining, it gains up 8 Black Arrows one for each direction that doesn't contain a Grey Arrow.
During any move where you don't move a Lizard, you can choose to give a Lizard a Black Arrow in a direction of your choice. Doing so removes the Lizard Character.
This cannot be used using Lizards with at least 6 Arrows.
===================================================================
Self Capture
As in the original appearance of this game you can capture your own pieces. Here however doing so can upgrade a piece.
If you capture a friendly piece you can choose if the piece you moved replaces their character with the one on the captured piece.
If you capture a friendly piece add all Black Arrows on the captured piece to the capturing piece as Grey Arrows replacing what is already there.
Once a piece captures a friendly piece it becomes marked. This is indicated by a lighter coloured centre.
Marked pieces cannot capture another friendly piece or be captured by another friendly piece.
Some pieces can start marked.
For example:, in the following situation, the Monster piece can capture the guardian piece:

Use at the start of your turn when there are at least 9 pieces on the board in total.
Choose 2 pieces, one owned by each player. Add a Black arrow to each piece with your choice of direction that doesn't contain an Arrow.
You may not move your piece that you selected this turn.
Rotate:
Use at the start of your turn when there are at least 9 pieces on the board in total.
Choose 1 friendly piece, you may rotate its arrows any amount you choose.
