DeathMatch 4: Desperado!
In this game, you will need to attempt to locate buried treasure as fast as you can.
This game uses on a 7x7 map of an area. Each square of this map can contain an image.
On the right hand side of the board will be spaces for the clues to the location of treasure.
On the left hand side, the number of treasures on the board, compass direction and current scores will be listed.
Rounds 1,4,7 will have 1 Treasure. Rounds 2,5,7 will have 2 Treasures. Rounds 3,6,9 will have 3 Treasures.
Each treasure will have a different coordinate, and no two treasures will be directly adjacent orthogonally.
At the start of each round the board and the first two clues will be revealed for 40 seconds.
Every 40 seconds another clue will be revealed, this repeats for a total of 5 times.
The round will end 40 seconds after the last clue is revealed.
This means every round is 40x6= 4 minutes long.
It is guaranteed that the exact location of all treasures can be calculated after the last clue is revealed.
However it may be possible to know the exact locations earlier than this.
Please note, that “Next to” means “Orthogonal to” in Clues.
You must use these clues to calculate or guess the location of the treasures.
You must submit a coordinate of the map once for each treasure hidden on the board.
The earlier you submit the more points you will earn, but only if you are close to the correct answer.
Speed is determined by which 40 second time period you lock in based on your slowest response.
It is suggested that you submit all your guesses in the same 40 second time period.
All valid submissions are final.
Here is an example map:
Example Treasure locations F3 and C7
For each time a treasure lies on the edge of the board, all its points are worth more.
Scores are calculated based on the maximum you would score if each guess is tied to a different treasure.
Players earn 2 extra points per treasure when there is exactly 1 treasure.
Players earn 1 less point per treasure when there is exactly 3 treasures.
Here are the calculated scores based on location:
Rounds end once both players have submitted, at which point all remaining clues and earnt points are revealed.
After 9 Rounds, whichever player has the least points loses the DeathMatch and is eliminated.
If this is a tie, the player who got the least treasures exactly right is eliminated.
If this is a tie, the player who had less points than the other most recently is eliminated.
