The Cube

In this Main Match, win games of rock-paper-scissors to collect cards while visiting every vertex of the cube.

Designer(s): Zero Match Type: MM (for 8 players)
Featured in: Zero's Gambit

Each Player will start on a vertex of a cube, the goal is to visit each vertex and collect cards numbered 1-8.

At the start of the game, each player will randomly be assigned a vertex of the cube. (Each player on a different vertex) This will be referred to as your home vertex and you will start the game there. Each player will also receive the card numbered 1, along with 3 Rock Paper Scissor cards (one of each).

Each turn you must choose an edge to travel along by choosing the colours of the adjacent faces. Every time you visit a vertex, you will receive a card with a number on it. The first time you visit a vertex, the number will be equal to the total number of different vertices you have visited so far. Every subsequent time, you will receive the same number you got when you first visited the vertex.

When players move, they may select 1 of their rock paper scissor cards to be used in a battle. If 2 or more players move along the same edge in opposite directions, they will battle. When selecting a direction to move, players may also choose to not play a RPS card. if you play a RPS card for a battle in a round, it is used up even if no battle occurs These are the results of the battles:

Outcomes:

Win: The value of the next card you pick up is +1.

Draw: Both players move to their destination, no negative effects.

Lose: You don't move, and return back to the vertex you were at. You don't gain an addition card.

When there is more than 1 person going in the opposite direction to you, your symbol is compared against each of them and the average is taken. (A win cancels a lose, and a draw has no effect)

To gain RPS cards, you must choose to discard one of your number cards. You may only discard 1 card per round. Discarding each number will give a different result, you may use dicebot to signal a discard and choose the random card(s):

You will only be able to talk to the people who share an edge with you each round. You will only know the location of people on the cube who share an edge with you. The cubes faces are coloured as shown below. You will receive an image of your position each round, you may not CP the image or post equivalent images.

Your aim is to collect a copy of every numbered card from 1 to 8 and return to your home (Starting vertex). Once you collect every number, an alarm will sound alerting the other players of this fact. It will be alerted at the start of each round how many people have all cards from 1-8. You will not know who the alarm is referring too.

If you fail to submit a movement, you will move randomly. If you fail to submit a RPS card, it will be assumed you don't submit any.

You may spend 1 garnet to know the location of everyone for that round. (will reply asap)

You may spend 1 garnet to post a message in a 1 to 1 chat with somebody you don't share an edge with. The other person cannot reply, unless they also wish to spend a garnet. They may only react with a thumbs up to notify you that they have read it. These messages may not be edited.

You may spend 5 garnet to play a RPS card at random. You will not know which card you play until the deadline.

The winner is the first person to gain a copy of every numbered card from 1 to 8 and end their turn at their home. If after 18 rounds nobody has achieved this, the game will end. The player(s) with the most number of unique cards win. If at least 6 people have the same number of unique cards, the player(s) with the highest number will win. If at least 6 people all reach their home with cards 1 through 8 at the same time, the player(s) with the most amount of numbered cards win. If there is a sole winner, they shall receive 2 ToL. The loser(s) is the person with the fewest amount of unique numbered cards. In the results of a tie, the winner decides EC between the losers. Players will receive 1 garnet for each unique 1-8 card they have at the MM end.

Opal Challenge: End the game with a card numbered 0, and a card numbered 9. If 1 person achieves this they receive an opal. If 2 people achieve this they each receive a clear opal. If more than 2 people achieve this, they each gain 5 garnets. This decreases by 1 garnet for each person after 3 who achieves this.

Each deadline is 24 hours, and the game will start on the 24th at standard deadline. Then starting positions will be posted, and players will provide their actions for round 1.

2 players on the same vertex may trade 1 card with each other if both agree (this will happen at deadline, before moving)

Both players must say what they are trading with and for, and with who, EG:

Zero submits: I will trade my 1 for Aslyui's 2

Aslyui submits: I will trade my 2 for Zero's 1

max 1 trade per person per round

Clarification: If you win a RPS battle when first visiting a vertex, although the card you receive will have +1 to its value, future visits will not be based from this +1 bonus, and be the number of vertices visited. E.g:

Starting at number 2 vertex

Win battle and move to new vertex

Receive a card numbered 4

Go back to prev vertex, drawing in battle, and receive a card numbered 2.

Go back along same edge again via drawing, and receive a card labelled 3

Clarification: you may not give away cards, only 1 on 1 trade once per round

As people have asked for a example image, here is what you shall recieve each round:

Here you could only talk to players ABCD

And when stating your movement, you would say one of:

Brown - Grey Edge

Purple - Grey Edge

Purple - Brown Edge

Also, after a crossing, you will be told if you battled, who took part in the battle, what everyone played in the battle, and who won/drew/lost

Changes

Battles don't occur depending on the edge travelled, but whether other players arrive at the same location. Everyone who arrived from a different edge to you is considered your opponent.

The prize from winning a battle has changed, you will now receive a random 1-8 card. This card will be between 1 and the #of unique vertices you have visted so far. (you will still recieve your usual card from visiting the next vertex)

The opal challenge now only requires you get the 0 card.

The winner is the first person to gain a copy of every numbered card from 1 to 8 and end their turn at their home. If after 18 rounds nobody has achieved this, the game will end and the player(s) with the most number of unique cards win. If at least 6 people have the same number of unique cards, the player(s) with the highest number will win. If at least 6 people all reach their home with cards 1 through 8 at the same time, the player(s) with the most amount of cards wins. If there is a sole winner, they shall receive 2 ToL. The loser(s) is the person with the fewest amount of unique numbered cards. In the results of a tie, the winner decides EC between the losers. Players will receive 1 garnet for each unique 1-8 card they have at the MM end.

If there is a tie for first between 6 people or more, the player with the most cards (of any type) will win

Players may post images of the cube in this version of the mm, they may not post images of those posted by me in their confessional
