In this Main Match, choose the right symbol despite limited communication to score points.
Designer(s): Zero | Match Type: MM (for 12 players) |
Featured in: Zero's Gambit |
This Main Match has limited communication, therefore players will not be allowed to use certain alliance chats for the duration of this Main Match. This rule is enacted immediately.
In this Main Match, players will be sorted randomly into a 3 by 4 Grid. Players will only be allowed to communicate with that share your row and column. The 3x4 grid will be revealed, and each player will be represented by their letter identities from the first Death Match. A thread will be created for each row and column, and you may only communicate 1 on 1 with players in your row and column. Alliance chats with players outside your row and column are banned for the duration of this mm.
Each round, Players will choose 1 of 2 signs, [O or X], and 1 of 3 colours [Red, Yellow and Blue]. If players don't submit, a random symbol will be assigned. Once all player selected a symbol, their submission will be revealed in the grid next to their letter. Before scoring commences, the grid will be evaluated, if in any of the rows or columns, players have selected the same colour or sign, those players will be removed from the scoring process. Scoring will than commence, after the grid has been evaluated, according to the rules below.
(In the case of a tie Red>Yellow>Blue)
(In the case of a tie Yellow>Blue>Red)
(In the case of a tie Blue>Red>Yellow)
(The symbols of the players removed from the round, are not used to determine which of the remaining players score)
At most 6 people may score in 1 round. If more than 6 people would score, then the players who wouldn't score how aren't removed from the round will score instead.
Players may not choose the same colour 2 rounds in a row, or the same sign 3 rounds in a row. If this is done, the player’s submission will be considered invalid and the player will be assigned a random symbol instead.
Each round will last 24 hours (except for first 2). The first player to reach 5 points wins the ToL and the loser is the player with the least points. Players will earn 3 garnets for 5 points, 2 garnets for 3-4 points, and 1 garnet for 1-2 points.
If there are multiple losers, the EC will be decided by the winner(s) through majority vote.
If there is a single winner they will receive 2 additional ToLs (after they have received their own) and they must give 1 ToL to a player in their row or column, and 1 ToL to a player not in their row and column.
If there are 2 winners, 1 extra ToL will be given. They must give the 3rd ToL to a player not in either of their rows or columns. If there is 3 or more winners, they will just each receive a ToL.
During the above process, alliance chats between players outside of your row and column will still be banned. Note, that players will instead submit in their submissions channel instead of announcing their choices publicly like normals. If players choose different people, the players chosen will play Deadlock coin to decide who to give the additional ToL to or to determine the EC. The EC will then choose their DM opponent.
More importantly, for the above, players will not be selected by their name, but their Identity letter instead. So it's possible, it could go to someone you didn't expect. Identities will not be revealed until both DM players are decided.
Players may pay 1 garnet to send a message to another player. It must be less than 400 characters.
Players may pay 3 garnets to be immune from the round. This means even if your row or column contains all the same symbol or colour, you will remain in the round, while the others will be removed from the round.
Garnet Trading may only be done with people in your row or column.
If a player is the only person to choose a unique symbol in a round, they will gain a garnet. This is up to 3 per person for the MM. (you only get a garnet the first 3 times you do this)
Opal Challenge: Be the only player to correctly guess every player's identity. During the MM you may submit in your confessional a guess, (before a player reaches 5 points). If more than 1 person guesses correctly, each player who gets it right will earn a garnet.
Example
First we evaluate the board
row 1 is the same colour and so is removed from scoring (Grey Background)
column 3 is the same sign and so are removed from scoring (Grey Background)
we then look at the remaining symbols to see who scores
there are 3O and 3X so we are looking for the medium frequent colour
Here they are all the same so we check the priority
Yellow>Blue>Red
so yellow symbols score and F and I gain 1 point (Green Background)
This is the grid of rows and columns, created at random
Grid-based (The game involves play on a grid.)
Limited communication (The game cuts or restricts communications in some way between players.)
