Boarding a Minecart:

There will be multiple tracks containing minecarts. Unlike in the first version, not every minecart on a track must be occupied in order for them to depart.

• If there are enough minecarts for everyone to board, the boarded minecarts will depart and follow the tracks to the other side. Each finalists will score points for each person they control occupying a minecart according to the number at the destination.

• If there are too many miners attempting to board the minecarts on a track, then those minecarts will not depart.

• All the minecarts not boarded, will be available to use in the second crossing.

• If a minecart departs in crossing 1, it will not return, hence it cannot be used in the second crossing.

Activating a Switch:

Alternatively to choosing a minecart chain to board, you can choose to activate a switch to change the path the minecarts travel.

• The tracks of the matching colour to the switch will swap for every person who activates the switch.

• Switch activations resolve before minecarts depart.

• You can only activate a switch that is on the same side of the ravine as you.

• The tracks which are grey are deactivated, the minecart will take the alternative coloured track. Tracks flipped carry over into the 2nd crossing.

• Switches may have more than 2 states.

Boarding the Train:

This new option allows you to board the train, Instead of boarding a minecart or activating a switch.

• There is no limit to how many people can board the train.

• Everyone who boards the train when it departs, will cross the ravine and score 1 point.

• The train will only leave in crossing 1 if all the miners boarded belong to the same finalist.

• The train will automatically leave on crossing 2.

• If the train departs in crossing 1, it will not return, hence it cannot be used in the second crossing.

• The train will only be board-able on rounds 2,3,5,7 and 8.

• Finalists score according to the end location of all their miner.

• If minecarts don’t overfill capacity the occupied minecarts will depart

Items:

1 Star: Hidden Value Crossing

Use this Item before the track layout is revealed for a round. (you will be asked at the start of each round).

You will get to see a copy of the board early. You may choose one of the points totals at the opposite side of the ravine and change its value to a natural number from 1 to 5. The value changed will appear as a "?" on the public board, and be unknown to the other finalist. You have a 3 minute time limit to decide which value to change. If you do not decide in this time, the number will not be changed and the track layout will be revealed in full.

2 Star: Extra Miner

Use this item during the 3 minute submission time for crossing 1 of a round. You gain an additional miner for the round. This is announced publicly and the submission time for the crossing resets to 3 minutes. You will score points for the final location of this miner in the round. If at least one of your miners fails to cross during this round, it will be considered that this miner was one of the ones who failed to cross.

Extra Miner will activate at the submission deadline. You must just state that you use it in the submission period.

3 Star: Remote Switch

Use this item during the 3 minute submission for a crossing. You may activate a switch of your choice. This switch does not need to be in reach of one of your miners, and does not cost the action of one of your miners. It will be publically announced when you use this item, and which switch it was used on. This will happen after the submission phase for the round.
