This game is played on a 9x9 board. The starting player will be Red, and the Second player will be Blue. Piece starting locations are shown below.

Players alternate turns. On a players turn, they place an arrow stone onto the grid.

There are 4 different stones, one for each cardinal direction.

The stone is the same colour as your piece.

On your next move, you may not use the same type of stone you placed on your last turn.

If there are enemy pieces sandwiched between one of your stones, and the stone you just played, the sandwiched stones are removed. This can be orthogonally or diagonally.

When placing a stone, you may not form a closed loop of stones. This condition is checked before capturing.

-

Examples are given below:

If blue is to move, X captures B8 and C8, and Y captures B7 and D7.

The other arrangements at the bottom show 2 loops, that are invalid states.

-

After a player has placed, one of the pieces will move following the direction of the stone’s arrow they are standing on (if there is a stone).

The order follows a snake patterns as follows:

Blue, Red, Red, Blue, Blue, Red, Red, Blue ….

After this it is the opponent turn to place a stone.

If a player’s piece moves off the board, the Final Match will end with that players loss, and the other player will be crowned the victor.

Players have a time limit of 1 minute per turn, with 5 mins reserve time. If a player runs out of reserve time, they lose the Final Match.

Items:

Starter: The holder of this item chooses who goes first. If blocked, players may agree who goes first at the start of the FM. If no agreement is made, the starting player is chosen randomly.

Retake: During your turn, you may call "Retake". The last 2 moves will be undone, and your timer will restart for placing a stone on the board you had on your last turn. Same stones place restrictions apply to when you first placed on that board.

Reserve: You start with an extra 2 mins reserve time.

Starter went to Sally, Retake and Reserve went to Maddie
