Match Type: DM (for 2 players)

Rules:

Players will battle to price out their opponent in a 5 round game.

Each round is independent of the others, first to reach 3 round wins, wins the DeathMatch.

Each round will have a "Setup" Phase, and a "Shopping" Phase.

Setup:

In each round, each player will be given 12 tiles labelled with a letter from A to L.

Each tile will start with 2 single digit numbers listed. For example 1/2. (same for both players)

This represents the value of the tile.

At the start of each round, there will be a "value threshold" for that round.

Each player must choose which of the 2 numbers they want a tile's value to be.

After selecting the value for each tile, the total of all tiles must be at least the value threshold.

Secondly, at the start of each round, players will have a "cost limit".

Players must assign a coin value to every tile so that the total is at most the cost limit.

Players will also be given a "coin allowance", this will be used in the "Shopping" Phase.

This value will be less than the cost limit.

Players have 6 minutes to complete the setup section.

If players make an invalid submission, they will be given a 2 point penalty for the end of the shopping phase, and a 2 minute extension to re-submit.

(This is repeated for repeated invalid submissions)

Shopping Phase:

At the start of this phase, players will be presented with each others selections.

Players will then privately submit a tile they want to buy from their opponents offers. Players have 1 minute to do this.

Failing to submit within the 1 minute will result in buying the cheapest tile. If tied we use alphabetical order.

Afterwards the results are revealed, with each players remaining coin total.

We repeat doing this until each player can no longer afford to purchase a tile.

The players with the highest total value of tiles wins the round.

If this is a tie, the DeathMatch opponent wins the round.

You may not use any bots/solvers/calculators during the DM

Example Round (with 3 tiles)

Here for the value threshold, you could choose:

A = 1, B = 2, C = 3, so 1+2+3 = 6 (value threshold)

And assigning costs to them as 1,3,6 (=10, coin limit) would result in:

Then the opponent could either buy A and B, or C with their 6 coins (Coin Allowance), meaning there best score is 3 points.
