Designer(s): Zero | Match Type: DM (for 2 players) |
Featured in: Zero's Gauntlet |
In this game, the 2 players will face off against each other in a series of challenges. They will then attempt to bluff how well they did.
This game will be played in a series of 10 rounds.
Each round will feature a series of 5 similar challenges.
Each challenge will have a strict time limit to answer, shown in the top right.
Each challenge will be multiple choice between 8 possible answers.
Players will be told the rules of the challenge series at the start of each round with an example.
Players are then allowed to ask any clarifying questions.
In general the challenges will get hard the further into the series.
The time limit will only increase or stay the same the further into the series.
Players will give their answer to their challenges privately.
After each series, the correct answers will be revealed.
Players will then be told how many they got right.
Each player earns 1 point per correct answer, but they could lose these points if neither player Surrenders.
Players will be given a 2-minute period to discuss the challenge.
Players may use this time to bluff how well they did.
Afterwards players will face off against each other.
A 10 second timer will start and slowly count down second by second.
During this time players may decide to call “Surrender”.
If both players call Surrender only the first player to do so counts.
If a player calls surrender:
The points for the round are not revealed until the end of the Final Match.
The player who called surrender keeps their points for the series.
The other player gains the maximum of [3 points, Their series points + 0.5 points]
If neither player calls surrender:
The points each player got for the series are revealed.
The player with the most points for the series keeps them.
The player with the least points for the series loses them all.
If both players have the same amount of points, both players keep them.
-
Each series is treated separately in terms of point scoring.
At the end of the last round all points are revealed for each round.
The player who has the most points at the end of the 10 rounds wins the Final Match.
In the event of a tie for points, the player who surrendered less is the winner.
If that is also a tie, the player who has the majority of the items for this game, wins.
At the start of the Final Match the names for all the challenges will be revealed.
The first round is fixed.
The winner of the last round chooses which challenge is played next.
This is either the player who didn’t surrender or whoever kept their points.
If both players kept their points, the player who didn’t choose the last round will get the right to decide.
Rules for challenges:
You may not use the internet to look up answers
You may not use a calculator
You may not use a solver / excel

Final Game Items:
Double Chance:
Privately submit at the start of a series after the rules have been revealed, before the first challenge. For that series you may submit 2 of the multiple choice answers for each challenge. You will be right if either of your submissions is correct. It is announced if this has been used in the round after all 5 challenges have been presented but before the surrender phase.
Double Time:
You may call “Time” while within the submission time limit of the question. You will be given double the time limit to submit for the question. Your opponent will still have the set time of the question. You may use this for any challenge. You have 3 uses of calling "Time" for the item during the MainMatch. It is announced if this was used at the end of the challenge.
Retreat:
After the Surrender 10 second time limit has passed and neither player has called surrender, you will be given 10 additional seconds where only you can call surrender. This item is used up after the first time you call surrender during these 10 seconds.
