Genius Race

TBD

Designer(s): Shardren Match Type: MM (for 5 players)
Featured in: Shardren's Minecraft Genius: How to Adapt

Your eleventh Main Match is Genius Race.

In this game you will be playing against each other in Mini Matches, while attempting to get your piece to the finish line.

The 5 players will each have their own piece on the start space of a 12 space board. (Space 12 being the finish line)

Before the game begins, each player will select 2 pieces to support for the game.

The 5 Genius players must have their own piece as one of their two supported pieces.

Also, each guest must have a unique set of 2 pieces.

These will not be revealed during the game, however if a Guest picks a repeat, they then will be told to pick a different combination.

The three pieces you didn't support will each have a map put into a dispenser for randomization during rounds.

For example, if You supported Zero and Amey, then Joe, Luna, and Dems would each get a map in the dispenser.

When the game starts, the first player in the randomized turn order will get 3 random maps from the dispenser.

They will then place them on any of the 3 movements areas numbered 1, 2, and 3.

Once all 10 players have gone in order and placed their 3 maps in the movement squares, the characters will be moved based on which character had the most maps in a movement square.

For example, in the image, Zero has the most in the 1 movement square, and will move forward 1 space.

Luna has the most in the 2 movement square and moves up 2 spaces.

And for ties like in the 3 movement square in the image, those involved in the tie will be excluded, and the next most will move instead, so Joe moves forward 3.

Movements will also happen in the order as explained.

Once all characters have moved, then the next round will begin with the maps put back into the dispenser.

Because the order of drawing maps is an important factor, on your turn you may forfeit drawing maps for that round, and in turn will go last for drawing maps in the next round.

The order of turn will not be shuffled, just shifted.

Once one player has forfeited drawing cards for a round, no one else may do so for the remainder of the round.

Rounds will proceed until 1 player piece makes it to the finish line, where everything will be over, even if more player pieces need to move in the round.

The player piece next closest to the finish will be considered 2nd place, and so on.

Ties for any player piece past 1st place are broken by which character got to that space first.

The points for order of finishing are as follows:

1st place will recieve 5 points. 2nd will get 3. 3rd place gets 1 point 4th will lose 2 points.

and 5th loses 4 points.

Points from your own piece are multiplied by 1.5

You can also increase the number of points your piece will get upon the game's end.

If two pieces land on the same space, they will play a Mini-Match, where the winner will permanately increase their point gain that their piece will reward by 1.5

For example if a piece finishes in 3rd, but wins 2 mini matches, the result will be 4 points gained by supporting it.

The mini match to be played is decided by the icon on the space that was landed on.

Also, each guest player can be subbed in to play a Mini Match instead of a player, but only once through the entire Main Match.

The first Mini-Match is Knight Moves II

Each player will have 2 pieces, and will take turns moving on a board.

Movement can only be made as a knight can in chess.

Players have 40 seconds to make a move.

Once a space has been landed on, it cannot be landed on anymore.

You cannot land on a space that is currently occupied either.

Once a player cannot move one of their two pieces, they will lose the mini-match.

The second Mini-Match is Line of Fire.

Players will have one of each number card numbered 1 through 7.

Submitting simultaneously, players will allocate their numbers to one of 5 zones.

The player with a higher total in a zone, will win said zone.

On even numbered submissions, numbers played will be hidden, but not which zone played in.

Players have 45 seconds for submissions.

The player with more zones won will win the Mini-Match

Ties broken by highest difference won in a zone.

The Third Mini Match is Mathfinding.

There will be a 5x5 board of random numbers.

Each round you'll get a random number 1-100 as a target number.

You'll make a path between numbers to hit said target number by putting signs in between numbers in your path.

When you believe you have found a valid path, you'll buzz in and claim how many numbers are in your path.

Your opponent then has 20 seconds to counter with a longer path.

The player to buzz in last when the timer runs out will go through their path.

If correct, they gain the number of points as numbers on their path.

If incorrect, they lose the number of points as number on their path.

After 4 rounds the player with more points wins the Mini-Match.

Once the game is over, points are calculated from supported players.

The Guest player with the most points will earn a prize.

The Genius player with the most points will earn 2 Chestplates of Life.

and the Genius player with the least number of points will be the elimination candidate, and will participate in the Death Match today.
