IMAGE SUMMARY

RULES

In this MM, players will be betting on the outcome of matches in a tournament, while being able to influence them in some way.

This game involves 16 fictional champions (represented by League of Legends champions). They have 5 distinct stats that may change over the course of the MM.

These champions are, in alphabetical order, as follows:

Azir, Bard, Gnar, Hwei, Ivern, Jhin, Kled, Lulu, Neeko, Ornn, Poppy, Ryze, Singed, Viego, Yuumi, Ziggs

Each tournament match will always have one winner, and the winner will advance while the loser drops to the loser's bracket (or is eliminated if they were already in the loser's bracket). This tournament will play similarly to a double elimination bracket, with one exception: there is no bracket reset. The winner of the winner's bracket and the loser's bracket face off in a singular grand finals game.

Matches are ID'd, and are resolved in that order. Round 1 will consist of matches 1-12, Round 2 will consist of matches 13-24, and Round 3 will consist of matches 25-30.

✏️ After Round 1, 4 champions will be eliminated; after Round 2, 6 more champions will be eliminated; after Round 3, 5 more champions will be eliminated, leaving one victor. See the bracket for more info.

STATS AND MATCHES

Each tournament player has 5 stats, which may be various values. Note that not all values described may be obtainable values for a specific stat.

  • Determination: Integer
  • Velocity: An ordered pair of integers
  • Spirit Animal: An animal
  • Favorite Pokemon Move: A Pokemon move
  • Smash Main: A Super Smash Bros. character

Matches are determined by comparing each stat of each champion; the champion that is better in each stat will win that stat. When all 5 stats are compared, the champion who won more stats wins the match. In the case of a tie, the champion that's been around longer wins.

Here is how the winner of each stat is determined:

  • Determination: ????????????
  • Velocity: ???? ?????????
  • Spirit Animal: ??????? ?? ?????
  • Favorite Pokemon Move: ???? ???????
  • Smash Main: ???-???? ?????

Matches have their result public; the winner is revealed, as well as how many stats both champions won (though the exact distribution is not revealed).

At the start of each round, all champions' stats are revealed.

CHIPS

Chips are the currency of this MM. Each player gets a set amount of chips for each round, which DO NOT carry over to future rounds. Chips may be used on three things: betting, rigging, and researching.

Players get 10 chips for Round 1, 15 chips for Round 2, and 20 chips for Round 3.

BETTING

Players may bet on the result of matches. Each match in the tourney is labeled with a number, and players will be betting on the winner of the match. Depending on the match, players will gain some number of points if they are correct on the winner. Each match has a multiplier of x1, x2, or x3, representing the gain of points if someone bets correctly on the winner.

In Round 1, players cannot bet more than 2 chips on a single match.

In Round 2, players cannot bet more than 3 chips on a single match.

In Round 3, players cannot bet more than 5 chips on a single match.

Players cannot bet 0 chips on a match. Players may only bet on matches that are happening this MM Round (see bracket for round structure). Players cannot bet multiple times on the same match.

For each match, the player who bet the most on the winner of that match receives one bonus point. If there are multiple such tied players, this bonus is not given out.

RIGGING

Players may also spend chips to adjust the stats of champions. To do so, a player selects a champion, and a time (before match 1, after match 3, etc.) for the stat to be adjusted. Players may only adjust stats before/after matches in the current MM Round.

For each chip that a player spends on this champ and stat, they may adjust the stat up to three times in any direction (up, down, left, right).

✏️ Note that for some stats, there may be some ambiguity; therefore, we will make the clarification that up/right will both mean forward, and left/down will both mean backward for those types of stats. We will also make the clarification that there is wrapping; any values that go beyond allowed values will be wrapped around.

✏️ If there are multiple actions in a row, then all ups will be processed first, then all rights, then downs, then lefts.

RESEARCH

Players may also spend chips to learn information. A player may pick a pair of champions that cannot face each other in this MM Round. For one chip, they may pick a stat and learn which champion would win in that stat. For two chips total, they will learn which champion would win in all of the stats.

This is a real-time query; please ping the Dealers in your submissions channel when you do this.

ENDGAME

Players are ranked by the amount of points they have, with the tiebreaker being more matches correctly bet on, followed by previous MM results.

  • Highest rank gets a 4/4 ToL.
  • Second highest rank gets a 2/4 ToL.
  • Third highest rank gets a 0/4 ToL.

The highest ranked player with the most matches they correctly bet on will get a 0/4 ToL (even if they already have a ToL). They will gain additional shards on the ToL based on how many more matches they correctly bet on compared to the player with the second most matches correctly bet on, up to a maximum of 4 additional shards (forming a 4/4 ToL).

The lowest and second lowest ranked players without a ToL are the ECs.

CONTRACTS

There is one optional contract, and you may choose whether you accept it:

Greed Pact

You may select two contracts instead of one. However, if you fail either of them, you don't get either of their rewards.

Reward: 0 Shards

Pick one (or two if you accept Greed Pact) of the below contracts to accept.

Contract of Accuracy

Correctly bet on the outcome of matches 27, 28, 29, and 30.

Reward: 1 Shard

Contract of Wealth

Have the most total unspent chips across every round.

Reward: 1 Shard, plus 1 additional Shard if unique

Contract of Prediction

You are privately informed of a champion that won't get 13th (without any changes). Predict their placement out of the following ranges: 12th-9th, 8th-5th, top 4, top 2.

Reward: 1 Shard, plus 1 if correct on top 2

Clarification: At the end of each round, the current bracket is revealed publicly, and you are privately informed of your point count. (You are not told the point counts of other players.)

Clarification: When betting on a match that depends on previous matches in the round (for instance, Matches 9-12 in Round 1), you should state the name of the winning champion of that match. You do not need to state the identity of the losing champion.
