IMAGE SUMMARY
RULES
Each player will be in 4 groups: one group of size 1 (known as a personal group), and three groups of size greater than 1 (known as social groups). Each group in the game is labeled with a unique letter.
A player will be informed on which groups they are in. Additionally, a player will be informed that one of their social groups is a social group.
Each player's goal is to guess the sizes of the groups they are in, as well as the personal group of each player.
STRUCTURE
This MM will last for 72 hours. There are no rounds. Starting 24 hours after the start of the MM, players can lock in their guesses for group sizes as well as each player's personal group.
GUESSING
There are two types of guesses: a group size guess, and a personal group guess. A group size guess consists of a group you are in, plus a number. A personal group guess consists of a player's name (which could be your own), plus a letter. You may privately make these guesses after 24 hours have passed. You have a maximum of 20 guesses.
✏️ Note that you have separate guesses for which of your groups is of size 1, and which personal group you are in. That means players can make a maximum of 17 distinct correct guesses.
✏️ Players do not need to guess everything, and may stop at any time.
After your 3rd, 7th, 12th, and 18th guess, you will be informed on the number of incorrect guesses you made since the last checkpoint.
SCORING
Players lose 1 point for each incorrect guess.
Players gain 2 points for each correct personal group guess.
Players lose 3 points for each time their personal group is correctly guessed by someone else.
Players gain 6 points for each correct group size guess.
Players only gain points the first time they are correct on a specific guess.
Players are not informed on how many points they lost or gained.
✏️ Note that this means that guessing your personal group's size and guessing your own personal group is worth 6 + 2 = 8 points in total. These are two separate guesses.
ENDGAME
✏️ Each player will be ranked by the number of points they have, with ties first broken by having more distinct correct group size guesses, then by fewer people guessing their personal group, then by their performance in MM1.
The highest ranked player earns two 4/4 ToLs.
The second highest ranked player earns a 3/4 ToL.
The third highest ranked player earns a 2/4 ToL.
The fourth highest ranked player earns a 1/4 ToL.
The highest ranked player (even if they already have a ToL) who has 17 distinct correct submissions earns a 4/4 ToL.
The three lowest ranked players without a ToL are the ECs.
CONTRACTS
During the first 24 hours of the MM, you may sign the below optional contract if you wish.
Blood Pact
You lose one life immediately; gain it back at the beginning of the next episode. You cannot accept this contract if you do not have more than one life.
Reward: 2 Shards
Please pick exactly one of the following contracts to sign during the first 24 hours of the MM.
Contract of Confidence
You lose the ability to get verification on your answers.
Reward: 1 Shard
Contract of Veracity
Never be informed that you were incorrect on your guesses.
Reward: 1 Shard
Contract of Knowledge
Guess at least 10 personal groups correctly.
Reward: 2 Shards
CLARIFICATIONS
Clarification: For the Contract of Veracity, you are allowed to be informed that you had 0 incorrect guesses. If you are informed that you had more than 0 incorrect guesses, then you do not complete the contract.
Clarification: For the Contract of Confidence, if you accept the contract, you are no longer informed on the number of incorrect guesses you made since the last checkpoint, but will always complete the contract (and hence get the 1 shard reward).
Amendment: Players also only lose points the first time their personal group is guessed by a certain other player. (You cannot lose extra points by having your group guessed more times by one player.)
Clarification: The graphic for scoring is slightly out of date; there should be a -1 score for the R=4
guess, rather than a 0.
Amendment: "The three lowest ranked players without a ToL are the ECs." This rule has been changed.
