MM7: OCEANIC HARVEST

In this Main Match, players will attempt to collect fish from the beach by fishing and engaging in other activities.

The game will take place across 5 rounds. Each round, players will choose actions to do on a beach for the goal of obtaining fish, in preparation for the Dance of Whimsy.

Each player starts with 2 worms.

Each round, players will make 3 decisions:

  1. fishing
  2. breeding, training, or nothing
  3. battling

FISHING

You may choose to fish at the beach, choosing either a worm or another fish as bait.

When you fish, you will get a fish of 1 level higher than the fish you used as bait. Worms count as level 0 for this purpose. The amount of fish you will get varies, and the type of fish you will get is pseudo-random.

Check #mm7-fish-log for possible fish in this Main Match.

BREEDING OR TRAINING

In addition, you may choose to breed or train fish you own that you are not using as bait.

You may choose 2 fish to breed. These 2 fish will then have an offspring, who will be put into a bizarre fish tank where time seems to be sped up, for some reason, so that we can have children mechanics without involving time travel. Huh. Weird.

You may also select 1 fish to train. This fish will then be "upgraded." Upgraded fish will have higher value when it comes to winning. So, a 3-upgrade level-2 fish will beat out a 0-upgrade level-0 fish. Fish that have been upgraded sufficiently may also evolve, which will directly raise their level. When fish evolve, they will lose their upgrades. So, if a 4-upgrade level-3 fish evolves to a level-5 fish, it will be a 0-upgrade level-5 fish.

You may breed or train, but not both. You may also choose to do neither.

BATTLING

Each round, you must also select one fish to send to the Dueling Tank. You will pick another player and challenge their chosen fish to a FISH FIGHT. If you do not specify another player, your choice will be RNGed. If you do not have a fish to send to the Dueling Tank, you will not commence battle.

Each player is given 5 jars of performance-enhancing fish food, each valued 1-5. Each round, you must choose a jar of fish food to feed your fish. You will automatically use your lowest valued fish food if you do not submit.

Whoever fed their fish the higher valued fish food will win and the winning fish will gain a +3 upgrade. The losing fish is DEAD. Fainting is for cowards. If it’s a tie, both fish will gain a +1 upgrade. You will automatically send your lowest leveled fish if you do not submit. If you do not have any fish to send to the Dueling Tank, anyone who challenges you will automatically win.

Each battle in the Dueling Tank will be resolved simultaneously.

If at any point you have no fish left, you will be given 1 worm.

You may buy any fish in #mm7-fish-log for that fish's level * 2 garnets.

You can also spend 2 garnets to upgrade your fish yield, which means you'll get more fish from your fishing trips. This cost doubles each time you use it.

You can also spend 2 garnets to upgrade your fish training, which means your fish will get a +2 upgrade instead of +1. This cost doubles each time you use it.

Round processing order will be any fish purchases, then battling, then breeding or training, then fishing.

INFORMATION

What actions players took each round is revealed publicly, as well as what was used as bait. What fish were trained or bred are not revealed publicly.

You will privately know what fish you have, what fish you earned, and the results of your training and breeding.

There will be no detailed graphics or animations for the battles or fish, as we are a small indie dev company.

SUBMISSIONS

Each round, players must submit what they are going to use as bait to fish.

They may additionally choose to either breed or train. If you choose to breed, you must submit the two fish you wish to breed. If you choose to train, you must submit the one fish you wish to train. You may choose to do neither.

They must also submit the fish they are sending to battle, who they are dueling, and what level of fish food they feed their fish.

Clarification: Fish used as bait are consumed.

RESULTS

The winner of this Main Match is the player who has the highest-level fish, ties broken by first who has the highest-upgraded highest-level fish, then by the amount of tied fish. They will receive 2 Tokens of Life.

The Elimination Candidate is the player with the lowest-level fish, ties broken by who has the lowest-upgraded lowest-level fish. If the Elimination Candidate, is still tied, the winner(s) will break the tie.

RESULTS (GLITCHED)

The winner of this Main Match is the player who finds the name of the hospital by training the correct fish to talk. They may or may not receive Tokens of Life, but you'll save the life of your dear host.
