In this game, players will assign a deck of cards to locations on five 5x5 boards.
Afterwards, they will attempt to win on 3 of these boards by predicted the value of cards.
Every card used in this game has a front, and a back.
The front side will have a colour and a shape.
The colour will either be either cyan, pink or grey. The shape will either be either circle, triangle or square.
At the start of the game, the DMO will decide if they wish to be cyan or pink.
The EC will be the other colour. Grey cards are the pre-set random host cards.
The back side will contain a number from 1 to 10, and have a fruit as it's suit.
The suits are: Apple, Blueberry, Clementine, Durian and Elderberry.
In #dm1-boards you will see 5 boards, followed by your starting cards.
You have 23 hours (up until 1 hour before the deathmatch), to assign your cards to these boards.
The 5 boards are called A,B,C,D,E.
For each board you must submit 1 card for each space of your coloured sections.
Additionally, you must assign these to shape groups. (if board A, has 3 circle of your colour, you must submit 3 cards to Board A's Circle Group)
There are few rules which limit your card assignments:
• Your Apple cards may only be assigned to boards E, A and B
• Your Blueberry cards may only be assigned to boards A, B and C
• Your Clementine cards may only be assigned to boards B, C and D
• Your Durian cards may only be assigned to boards C, D and E
• Your Elderberry cards may only be assigned to boards D, E and A
and all cards in the same shape group for each board must either be:
• The same colour
• All different colours, of different values.
(This is per board, so you can have different things for each group for each board)
I will provide a template for assigning these in #dm1-boards.
Anything shape-board group that is not submitted at the time 1 hour before the DM will be randomised to a valid pattern. You will not be told the selected cards.
Anything that is invalid I will try to point out (please ping me with your submission with time to spare)
Grey cards will follow these rules (o/w random):
• All grey cards will be the same colour on each board. (Apple = Board A, etc)
• No 2 grey cards on the same board have the same number
• If there are 2 grey shape group for a board, all cards in the same shape group will have the same odd/even parity
• If there are 3 grey shape group for a board, all cards in the same shape group will not be consecutive
All cards in the same board-shape-colour group will be shuffled randomly, and placed on the respective spaces.
At the start of the DeathMatch, the DMO will choose a board for round 1.
They will also choose cyan or pink ( as mentioned earlier )
They will also decide if they wish to go first or second for the round 1 board.
Turns will alternate on each board, and will go as follows:
• Player chooses a front facing grey card, it is turned over and revealed. (all cards are front facing at the start)
• Player chooses a front facing adjacent card, and must predict if it will be higher or lower than the last card they turned over.
• If they are correct, they score 1 point. If then they have turned over less than 8 cards, they may choose another card that is adjacent to the card just turned over. (repeat) Otherwise their turn ends.
• If they are incorrect (including same value), their turn ends.
• If a player has no front facing adjacent cards to pick from, their turn ends.
Players may name the card by saying if they want the card to the North, South, East or West. (top of the board is North)
Players have 30 seconds to make each choice on their turns.
Players have 3 extensions of 30 seconds each for the whole match, which are automatically used when they run out of tune.
After theses extensions they turn will immediately end if they don't submit in time.
Timing start from each image post.
Players keep taking turns until all grey cards have been turned over.
The player with the most points wins the round.
If this is a tie, the player who went second on the board wins the round.
Points are then reset, and the player who lost the round chooses another board for the next round.
They may choose if they wish to go first or second on this new board.
The first player to win on 3 boards, wins the DeathMatch.
The other player is eliminated.
