Summary: In this Main Match, hide gold in your bags and attempt to steal the most gold from your opponents' bags.

Designer(s): Zero

Featured in: The Genius: Tempo Up

Match Type: MM (for 9 players)

Rules:

This game has 3 rounds, but each is a unique submission.

The first 24 hours will be considered the “setup” phase.

The second 24 hours will be considered “heist” phase.

The third 24 hours will be considered “reconciliation” phase.

Setup:

Each player starts the game with 10 gold and 3 bags.

During the setup phase, players must name their 3 bags uniquely.

Bags should have sensible names. (Not excessively long and English language)

They must also split their gold among the 3 bags into any quantities they desire.

They must put at least 1 coin in each bag.

If there is no submission, names will be taken from a predetermined list and the player announced, and coins randomly split in a 2,3,5 formation.

If 2 bags have the same name, they will take a name from the predetermined list and their owners informed of the new names.

I will announce how many bags had a name taken from my predetermined list.

Players may spend 1 garnet to gain 1 gold, up to 3 times. You must give a valid split otherwise any garnets aren't spent.

Heist:

At the start of the heist phase the 27 bags along with 3 dealer bags containing 5 gold each will be distributed into 5x6 grid randomly.

These bags will have each have a name I have chosen.

The names of the 30 bags will be given but not who owns each bag.

No two bags from the same owner will be next to each other diagonally, horizontally or vertically.

Players must each choose 2 columns and 2 rows, and 1 bag not in any of those lines.

The 4 bags that overlap, plus the 1 extra will be searched.

If your overlap contains one of your own bags, you will exclude it from your searching.

Everyone who searches the same bag will attempt to split the coins inside.

They will each take an equal share where possible, any excess will remain in the bag.

Players are told how many coins they see in each bag they search, who else searched the bag and how many coins split to each player.

Reconciliation:

Each player will then be given their bags back, but they must choose 1 to risk discarding.

The players will not know how many coins are in each bag, but they will be told if the bag feels:

Empty: 0 coins

Light: 1 or 2 coins

Heavy: 3 or more coins

They must select one of their non-empty bags.

If the bag has less coins than it started with, they may keep the bag and its contents.

If the bag has the same number of coins it is confiscated and lost.

Players keep the contents of the other 2 bags automatically.

MainMatch End

At the end of the MainMatch, everyone's coins are revealed.

The player(s) with the most coins is declared the winner.

Tokens of Life are given out, with a Threshold of 4.

Players who receive a Token of Life, gain 1 garnet.

The player with the least coins is declared the loser and elimination candidate.

If this is a tie, the players are ranked using the total number of coins they stole from other players bags. More coins ranked higher.

If this is a tie still, the winner(s) decide which of the tied players becomes the elimination candidate.
