Are you ready to have your brain melted? It’s Finals time!!
Summary
In this game, players will fight for control over the edges of a hyperbolic board, while utilising the middle of the board to battle for connections.
Gameplay
Players will play on the following board, made out of hexagons and heptagons. Yes, the board you’re looking at is what you will be playing on. I am genuinely sorry for this.
Each space is marked with a unique coordinate. To submit that space, simply submit that coordinate.
Cells of the outside start with a ’
.
The middle space is filled with stones of both colors.
✏️ The first player will be decided by the player holding the First Player item. If neither player has it, it will be decided randomly.
The first player will place 1 stone of the opponent’s color on any space. Then the second player will do the same.
From now on, starting with the first player and then alternating, players will place 1 stone at any empty space.
There are 4 other options of what a player can do on their turn.
Other three options are the three items.
⌛ This game has very strict time controls: 30s per turn and no reserve time.
If a player owns Extra Time item, their time per turn increases by 10s.
If a player owns Reserve Time item, they are given 5m of reserve time.
Running out of time will result in no move (but not passing).
Game end and Scoring
A group is a set of at least 2 connected stones.
After both players pass and the game ends, all single stones (aka not a part of any group) are removed from the board.
Then, all edges that cannot be connected to any of the opponent’s stones through adjacent empty spaces are filled with the player’s stones.
Each stone on the edge of the board is worth 1 point. Each group of stones you have is worth -4 points.
The player with more points wins!
In case of a tie, the player that controls the majority of edge spaces connected to exactly one non-edge space will win.
📌 Amendment: You can only use one item per turn.
