Gold Silver Bronze 🥇 🥈 🥉

(This game was previously used in the show Time Hotel)

Gold, Silver, Bronze is a gambling game where players will bet on sets of precious metals with varying weights, with the goal of having earned the most chips by the match's end. Each player will begin Gold, Silver, Bronze with the following items:

🥇 3 gold bars with a weight of 3 kg each

🥈 10 silver bars with a weight of 2 kg each

🥉 20 bronze bars with weights of 1 kg each

💵 30 chips

Choosing Metals

Every round will have a starting player and a second player, with the starting player usually being the winner of the previous round.

The EC (MC) will be the game's first starting player.

The metal selection phase works as follows....

-At the start of the round, I will state the total weight of the bars each player has left, along with the chips that they have (though not which bars they have left!)

-The starting player secretly chooses a combination of bars with a total weight of up to 12kg.

-Then, the second player will learn the total weight of the bars that the starting player placed (though not which bars or how many they used)

-The second player will then secretly place bars with a total weight ranging between 2kg less and 2kg more than what the starting player had set down (this weight will be revealed to both players, though not which bars they chose).

Betting Phase

Both players will then "ante" (wager) 3 chips to the "pot" (the round's prize pool).

Players will then take turns betting, raising, checking, calling, and folding like in a poker game until the betting phase ends, beginning with the starting player (see descriptions below for more details on how each mechanic works, especially if you're unfamiliar with poker).

On a given turn during the betting phase, a player can do any of the following...

Check

Pass your turn, refusing to add any more chips to the "pot." Can only be used if the other player hasn't bet.

Play passes to your opponent, unless the previous player checked - in that case, the betting phase ends.

Bet

Add more chips to the pot. The other player will have to call, raise, or fold.

Call

Match the bet of the previous player. Then, the betting phase ends.

Raise

Match the amount of chips that the previous player has bet, and add (raise) more chips.

If the previous player bet 3 chips, and I raise 5, then I would put in 8 chips (5 more than the other player's bet).

The other player will then have to call, raise, or fold.

Fold

Forfeit the round. The other player takes all the chips, and the bars each player used aren't revealed.

Showdown

When the betting phase completes without either player folding, the bars both players used are revealed.

Whichever player used the most gold bars wins. If there's a tie in number of gold bars used, the player who used the most silver bars wins.

If there's a tie in number of gold and silver bars used, the player who used the most bronzes wins.

Otherwise, the round is considered tied overall.

The round's winner earns all the chips in the "pot" and is starting player in the next round.

If the round was tied overall, chips are evenly split between both players.

Game Ending

The game ends when one of either two conditions are reached.

1) A player runs out of chips ❌ 💵

If a player has no chips at the start of around, they lose the game, and the surviving player advances to the next round of Genius One.

2) It's the start of a round, and either player (starting or second player) has run out of bars. ❌ 🏅

If a player has bars remaining when the game ends, they exchange every bar they have for one chip each (5 golds, 3 silvers, 2 bronzes = 10 chips)

The player with the most chips will then wins the death match and advances to the next round.

If a player cannot make the weight the other player gives, or cannot make the 3 ante bet, the game will also end immediately
