This game is called Stormy Thunder City.

In Stormy Thunder City, the DM players will be placing buildings down on a 5x5 board and try to make lightning strike on their opponent’s buildings twice. The first part of the DM will consist of a placement phase, where players (starting with the chosen opponent) will place buildings down on the board according to the Thue-Morse sequence (with players A and B, the order is A-B-B-A-B-A-A-B-B-A-A-B-A-B-B-A). This means each player has 8 buildings that will be placed on a 25 space board. This means, that there are 9 squares (25-8-8=9) which are blank. These squares can be thought of as neutral buildings, or squares of land with no building. The DMO will decide who gets to place a building down first, then going by the Thue-Morse sequence until all buildings have been placed. One building must be in each row and in each column.

Afterwards, we will start the second part of the DM, the removal phase. In the removal phase, players will alternate choosing the row and the column where lightning will strike. In the first round, the DMO will decide whether they wish to start by selecting a row, or by selecting a column. Their opponent will start by picking whatever the DMO did not pick. The rows are labelled 1-5, and the columns are labelled A-E. In the player’s confessionals, they will state the row/column where lightning will strike for that round. Both players’ choices will be revealed, and the building on that coordinate will be “struck by lightning”. After each round, the players will alternate choosing between the row and the column where lightning strike.

This will continue until one building is struck by lightning twice. The player who owns that building will lose the DeathMatch and be eliminated from GO: DI. The other player will move on in the game.

There are a few things I want to add/clarify. I'm a bit tired (even though it's only 7:30PM for me) so apologies.

Time Controls (If this is played live)

For the placement phase, each player will have 1 min to place their buildings. If you have consecutive buildings, that's 1 for each, not a total of 2. If you go over that 1 min, you will go into reserve time.

For those who don't know, reserve time is a timing style I guess you can say that was seen in GG3.3. Reserve time will be a "stash" of extra time a player has just in case a player goes over. If they pass the deadline, they will be using up their reserve time. Once the reserve time is all used up, that player will lose.

For this game, each player will have a total of 5 min reserve time. If they miss the time deadline for the placement phase, they will go into extra time.

For the removal phase, each player will have 2 min to decide which row/column they wish to hit. If they miss this deadline as well, it will also go into the 5 minute reserve time. Note that the reserve time from the placement phase will carry over to the removal phase. Meaning if you have 3:30 left in your reserve time , you will start with 3:30 in your reserve time for the removal phase.

If not played live, I will post again tomorrow the time this will start non-live, and the time controls.

Also the winner of this DM will win 15 garnets.
