In Mined Games, miners will play "mind games" with their opponents to extract wealth from a collapsing cave. Push your luck by mining out emerald, gold, silver, iron and garnets without falling down into the lava below or dying to another miner's pickaxe.
Starting Positions π―
At the start of the game, miners will have 24 hours to decide what tile they will start on. The tile they start on must be on B1. Multiple players are allowed to start on the same tile.
Moving πββοΈ
Every turn, you can move to up to five tiles. You earn $400 every tile you move as an "exploration bonus" for wandering the mines (even if you've already moved on that tile before).
You are allowed to walk on any tile - however, when you step away from a tile, its durability decreases by one. If multiple players step away from the same tile, its durability decreases multiple times. If a tile's durability hits zero, then the tile breaks and anyone else who steps on the tile will fall (see Falling later).
You can step on emeralds, gold, silver, iron, garnets, earth... ANY tile present on the board. There are no walls, barriers, or impassable tiles.
I process each player's moves with their first moves being executed simultaneously, second moves being executed simultaneously, then their third moves simultaneously...
For example, if miners submit...
Up, Down, Left, Right, Left, Up
Up, Right, Left, Right, Down, Right
Both will move up, then miner one and two will move down and right simultaneously.
If a miner is standing on a broken tile (a zero durability tile), steps onto an already-broken tile, or has a tile mined underneath them, that miner will be stuck in a "falling" state and their other moves and actions will not be processed.
Mining πͺ¨
In addition to moving, you can mine a tile up down left or to the right of your tile. Once you try to mine a tile, you are no longer allowed to move the rest of the round (you end your submission by mining).
You are also allowed to mine a tile directly above you.
I will always process mining after moving.
For example, if the following submissions take place...
Miner 1: Up, Down, Mine Up
Miner 2: Up, Left, Right
For the third turn, I will process Miner 1's mine after Miner 2 moves Right.
Mining reduces the durability of a tile by one, earning you money and potentially breaking a tile and causing a miner to fall. Earn thousands of dollars by mining resource tiles for your company. You don't earn any money from mining already-broken resource tiles, but you still earn money if your mining action would break the tile.
Resource Tiles
π₯ Mining Gold earns you $5,000
π₯ Mining Silver earns you $4,000
π₯ Mining Iron earns you $3,000
π« Mining Dirt/Air/Lava earns you nothing
π© Mining an Emerald earns $2,000 and adds $4 to the prize pool
π₯ Mining a Garnet tile earns $1,000 and immediately gives you 4 garnets.
If someone else mines the tile you are standing on and you fall, you earn no money from what you've mined. However, if you are standing on Gold, Silver, Iron, or Emeralds and self-mine that tile (and no one mines the tile you are standing on), you earn an additional $1,000 since you are able to mine extra efficiently.
If multiple players mine the same tile on the same turn, the earnings from that tile are split. For example, if for their first action, two players both mine the same Gold tile, they would both earn $2,500. Earnings are always rounded to the nearest whole dollar.
** Falling** β°οΈ πββοΈ β
If your miner walks onto an empty space, or if the ground is mined from underneath them, then they freeze mid-air, looney-tunes style.
After all other moves and mines are processed, miners who aren't standing on anything "fall" through all empty spaces and land on whatever tile is "directly underneath" them, sharing coordinates one level down (B1 to B2, B2 to B3, and B3 to B4).
It's possible to fall from B1 all the way into lava on B3 or B4 if the corresponding spaces underneath you are also empty or broken. Falling into lava is A Very Bad Thing as noted later (check game end conditions).
Bonus Cash π΅
It's tough to make a living as a miner, so your company has added bonus incentives on top of everything else.
Genius One is currently undergoing a massive industrialization process. There is a great demand for Iron. The player(s) who mined Iron for the greatest amount of turns will split $6,000 between them.
Your company also wants to impair the operations of its competitors. If you a mine and break a tile and another player falls through that tile on the same round (entire series of moves/mines), you earn $4,000. You also earn $4,000 for attacking and killing at least one miner during a round.
Death π
Obviously, a miner's life is very dangerous. There are two ways to die in this Main Match.
1) Fall or step onto a lava tile. You will burn to death.
2) Be attacked by another miner on floor B3.
One thousand feet below sea level in floor B3 a lawless land where no nation can claim to hold sway. On the bottom platform, miners will have the option to attack others with their pickaxe instead of mining, instead of attacking either up, down, left, or right. This will take place before moving or mining. Attacking a tile will kill all miners present on that tile.
Game Ending β
The game ends when either of the following conditions take place.
1) 10 rounds elapse
2) A player died during that round
3) No player is able to access any more resources
If a miner falls into lava or is killed by a pickaxe, that miner is elimination candidate regardless of the money they've earned. Otherwise, the elimination candidate is the miner with the least amount of cash.
The living miner who earns the most money will earn two tokens of life.
If all the miners are dead, then the miner who earned the most money, living or dead, will earn two tokens of life, and the dead miner with the least money will be EC.
Garnet Spending π₯
You can spend garnets to make additional movements above five, spending one extra garnet per movement made above the cap.
Miner locations are public throughout the game
You can also mine directly above left, above right, above down, above up to be clear.
You will still earn money from exploration if your space is mined, you will not earn money from mining if you are falling.
I wasnβt clear on how many moves/mines you are allowed to make
I will allow up to five moves plus a mine or an attack.
Additionally, if someone mines a space before you manage to get to it, (on an earlier action) and it breaks, you wonβt be able to mine it
If multiple miners die (but not all) then EC is chosen by the winner.
