-- Summary --

This Main Match will feature 4 guests who will be participating in Simpler Genius, our adaptation of Simply Genius, because we frankly thought that it was too complicated and took too long.

All of the guests have competed in each other in Gambit Game!

Please check out the series in your free time, it's incredibly well made!

But for now, welcome our Guests, Ben, Grunkle, NoLucks and Spicy!

The guest that wins Simpler Genius will be able to give a finals item to a player of their choice!

The players will be betting on the guest they believe will finish second.

Be the best to earn a direct ticket to Finals!

⌛ Simpler Genius will last 6 rounds, 24h each, plus a 24h pregame.

-- Player Rules --

✏️ Each round, players will receive 2 chips to bet on 2 different guests.

Not submitting will result in you not betting chips and losing 2 points.

:Garnet: Players can spend 1 garnet to bet an additional chip. This chip can be bet on the same guest as one of your main chips.

The chips bet will be revealed at the end of each round.

Your goal is to bet chips on the guest that will finish in second.

After 6 rounds are over, guests will be ranked from 1st to 4th based on their position on the Simpler Genius track.

Any chips that you bid on the guest in 1st place subtract 1 point from your score

Any chips that you bid on the guest in 2nd place add 3 points to your score

Any chips that you bid on the guest in 3rd place add 2 points to your score

Any chips that you bid on the guest in 4rd place add 1 point to your score

:ToL: The player with the highest score wins the final Main Match and advances straight to finals!

:EC: The players that finish in 3rd and 4th will compete in dm7a.

:DMO: The player that finishes 2nd will compete with the dm7a winner in dm7b.

The winner of dm7b will join the winner of the MM in finals.

-# In case of a tie, it is broken by performance in previous episodes, with getting ToL being better than not.

-- Guest Rules --

At the start of Simpler Genius, all guests will receive 1 Sapphire.

:Sapphire: Sapphires are the currency of Simpler Genius and will allow you to gain advantage in one-round-Main-Minigame-Matches.

Additionally, guests will receive 1 sapphire for every 2 chips bet on them by the players.

Like in Simply Genius, there is a cap of 3 sapphires. Any sapphires gained past that will be discarded.

Each round of Simpler Genius will feature a new minigame, based on one of the MMs of Simply Genius.

At the end of each round, guests will gain a number of track positions based on the results of the MM.

:ToL: At the end of the MM, the guest furthest on the track wins the MM and gets to give out a finals item to a player of their choice!

-# In case of a tie, the guest further ahead in the previous round wins.

Now, here are the rules to all minigames

-- Round 1: Even Trade --

Each guest receives 1 pear to give away to any other guest. You can not give the pear to yourself.

✏️ Submit who to give the pear to.

Not submitting gives no pear, but you will not gain positions no matter the result of the round.

The total number of pears received by each guest are revealed, but not who gave a pear to whom.

If you receive 0 pears, you advance 1 position.

If you receive an odd number of pears, you advance 0 positions.

If you receive an even (but not 0) number of pears, you advance 2 positions.

:Sapphire: Guests can use a sapphire to buy insurance. It will nullify all the pears received.

-- Round 2: Trail Trouble --

At the start of the round, a Trail Trouble is revealed, which consists of 4 choices between 2 different paths.

✏️ For each choice, submit either left or right.

Not submitting assumes you submit right 4 times.

Different paths can give track positions, give or take coins (:coin:)

All guests start with 0 coins. All unspent coins are discarded at the end of the round.

If you try to take a path with insufficient coins, you will be taking the other path instead.

Total positions gained vary based on the paths taken.

:Sapphire: Guests can use a sapphire to take a path without spending the required coins.

Please specify which choice you’re using it on when submitting.

-- Round 3: Equilibrium Poker --

This minigame uses a deck of 12 cards, 1-6 in red and black suits.

At the start of the round, all guests will receive 3 cards.

✏️ During the round, guests can trade cards in pair chats with other guests.

Trades must be 1-1, and you can only make 1 trade in a pair chat.

At the end of the round, all guests’ hands are revealed.

Guests gain track positions based on their poker hand, card sum and equilibrium rank.

  • If you have a Straight Flush, you gain 2 positions
  • If you have a Straight or a Flush, you gain 1 position

  • If your sum of your cards is the highest between all guests, you gain 1 position (in case of a tie, all tied guests gain)

  • If the difference between your red and black cards is 0, you gain 1 position
  • If the difference between your red and black cards is the lowest between all guests, you gain 1 position (in case of a tie, all tied guests gain)

:Sapphire: Guests can use a sapphire to change the color of one of their cards.

-- Round 4: Coin Collectors --

At the start of this round, all players will receive 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze coin. (:gold_coin: :silver_coin: :bronze_coin:)

4 different auctions are revealed, each of them giving some number of positions.

There is also a 5th auction, the reward of which is not revealed.

✏️ Submit which of the 3 coins to bid on which auction. You can bid on the hidden auction.

Not submitting will result in no bids.

Guests that bid a gold coin on an auction will split the contents of the auction evenly.

Guests that bid a silver coin on an auction will evenly split the leftovers from what could not be split evenly between gold coin bidders

Guests that bid a bronze coin on an auction will evenly split the leftovers of what could not be split evenly between gold and silver coin bidders.

The results of all auctions are not revealed, but you will learn what your coins gained you.

The total position gain is based on the auction results.

:Sapphire: Guests can spend a sapphire to learn the contents of the hidden auction.

-- Round 5: Parity and Party –

At the start of the round, a hexagonal board is revealed with 8 pieces placed on it, 2 belonging to each guest.

The submission for this minigame will consist of 2 parts.

✏️ Players must submit which of the 2 pieces is the odd piece and which is the even piece.

✏️ Players may move their pieces up to 2 spaces in a straight line.

If your movement lands on the same space as any other player, the move is ignored completely.

The goal of this MM is to form a large enough party with other players, while keeping the correct parity.

A group is a collection of pieces that are adjacent to each other.

A party is a group that has at least 3 pieces in it. If the group only has 1 or 2 pieces, it will never score.

If your even piece is in a party of an even size, you gain 1 position

If your odd piece is in a part of an odd size, you gain 1 position

If both your pieces score, you gain 1 position

:Sapphire: Guests can spend a sapphire to either move an additional space, or to move not in a straight line. Guests can spend 2 sapphires to be able to do both.

-- Round 6: Four Formulas –

All guests will receive 12 number cards and 8 operation cards.

The operation cards are predetermined. All guests will receive four xs, two +s, one - and one /

Additionally, all guests will receive a “1” and a “10” number cards.

The remaining 10 number cards will be determined by your performance in the MM.

Guests will receive 5 number cards based on their position on the track after each round.

🔍 For example, if you end on positions 2, 4, 6, 6, 9; you will receive those 5 numbers on cards.

Additionally, guests will receive 5 number cards based on the number of chips bid on them after each round.

✏️ Using these cards, construct 4 mathematical expressions by alternating number and operation cards

An expression can not have 2 numbers or 2 operations in a row; it can’t start with an operation and all 20 cards have to be used.

The goal is to have the results to be as big and as close to each other as possible.

If a guest has two identical results, they move 1 space.

If a guest has three identical results, they move 2 spaces instead.

Additionally, if a guest’s range (highest - lowest result) is 10 or lower, they move 1 space.

Additionally, the guest with the highest average moves 2 spaces, and the guest with the lowest range moves 2 spaces. If multiple guests are tied for a metric, they all move 1 space instead.

:Sapphire: Guests can spend a sapphire to discard a card and duplicate another card of the same type.

That concludes all the minigame rules!

We know this is a lot of rules all at once, please do not hesitate to ask questions!

All of these minigames are based on previous MMs, so if you want to see how a particular minigame plays out, look at the announcements channel for that specific MM!

We wish you the best of luck!
