Devil's Bingo 🎲

In the Devil's Bingo, players try to get others to create "bingos" on their boards without making bingos on the boards of other players, all while navigating the Devil's extra rules.

The game has one preparation round, and an unknown number of calling rounds.

Preparation Round

In the preparation round, players will each be given 36 hours to create a 5x5 "bingo board" using google sheets. Your board should have 25 unique numbers. These numbers must all be unique numbers that are eligible to be called at some point during the game.

For example, I could submit a board like the one below...

If you submit an invalid space, I will replace the invalid spaces with lowest distinct valid number (from left to right, and top to bottom if there are multiple invalid spaces).

The numbers on each player's board will remain secret throughout the match.

For example, if you submit a board like this...

I will fill it in like so...

Calling Numbers 🔢

All other rounds will be 24-hour "Calling Rounds," where players submit numbers to "call out" to potentially fill spaces on the boards.

For Rounds 1 and 2, you will "call" up to one number from 1 to 50 (inclusive). I will state the numbers called, but not who called them.

Ex:

```
The numbers 5, 8, 11, and 12 were called this round!
```

Then, I will color in those "number" spaces on each player's board (without revealing what numbers were where).

Ex:

If a player's board has five squares filled in a row, column, or diagonal of colored in cells, that board is considered to have a "bingo."

Bingo 🎯

When a round ends in at least one player having a bingo, the sole player with bingo wins the game and earns two tokens of life and three garnets.

If multiple players have a bingo in the same round. the player among them who has the most spaces filled on their board wins the game and earns two tokens of life and three garnets.

If multiple players have the same amount of spaces colored on their boards while having bingo, it's considered a tie, and each of those players will receive a token of life and three garnets.

If four or more players have bingo and the same amount of spaces colored on their board, they'll receive four garnets each and no tokens of life.

If the game ends via a bingo, the elimination candidate is the one who called the highest number in the bingo the round the bingo was completed, among all the non-winning players.

For example, if the winning board looks like this...

And players call 5, 20, and 11 in a round... the player(s) who called 20 will lose the game.

It's possible for there to be multiple elimination candidates, or elimination candidates who called different numbers if there are multiple winners - in which case, the winners will have to agree to who will be EC.

If they can't agree, then a random winner will become EC, and all winners will lose their TOLs.

If there are no non-winners who called a number that completed a bingo that round, then all non-winning players will tie for EC.

If everyone's a winner in a round, the game will simply continue.

The Devil 😈

Devil's Bingo has one more twist - it's run by old man Lucifer himself.

Every round, the Devil will publicly announce two "laws" (A and B) that will give additional information about or change game rules. These laws can be literally anything and any length!!!!!!!

Thankfully, the Devil has scattered plans for seven of ten possible randomly laws among the future cast members - 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B, and 4A, with Laws 1A and 1B announced round 1... Laws 2A and 2B announced Round 2... Laws 3A and 3B announced Round 3... use knowledge of these plans to your advantage.

Garnet Spending 💰

Finding The Truth 👼

Of course, the Devil is easily influenced. You may read any of law 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B, 4A, and 4B freely by spending two garnets.

You may also spend one garnet each to read laws 5A and 5B, but you might regret purchasing them for reasons that will become obvious after reading them.

If you purchase any laws prior to 24 hours into the preparation phase, I will give them to you 24 hours after the preparation phase has begun.

Otherwise, I'll give you the laws to read at the round after you purchased them.

Asking for Lies 👿

In the round immediately prior to a rule being announced, you may pay three garnets and ask the Devil to lie about a law he's publicly announcing.

For example, you can ask him to "lie about Law 1A and tell everyone that 'calling the number 40 automatically wins you the game."

Then, the Devil will announce during round 1 that...

Law A: Calling the number 40 automatically wins you the game.

Of course, this won't affect the actual mechanics of the game, but might mislead the other players.

If multiple players ask the devil to lie about a specific law, he will combine all the lies into one larger post incorporating all the lies.

Note that if you ask clarification questions about mechanics that are lies, I will still make up "clarifications" for these lies and rules.

If you make a submission that's partially invalid, I will process only the valid parts of your submission, notifying you what parts of your submission are invalid after processing the round.

Conclusion

Plan the numbers you call carefully while gathering information to win at the Devil's Bingo.

If the winning player has multiple bingos (multiple rows, columns, or diagonals of five) then the prize pool will increase by $10.

Clarification: When a round ends in at least one player having a bingo, the sole player with bingo wins the game and earns two tokens of life and three garnets.

Clarifications:

  • You may not call numbers that have already been called.
  • I will show the numbers on each olayer’s board when the MM is over.
  • Laws will not be revealed unless they “affect final results.” I will go to submissions and tell you which laws will be revealed at end of the game.
  • Even then, I will not reveal the exact law number/letter, but only that a law exists with that mechanic.
