Color Theory 🟦 🟥 🟩 🟨

In Color Theory, players will paint a colorful canvas for as long as possible

Players will be given a (mostly) black-and-white canvas featuring a variety of shapes that share borders with one another. (Some shapes might already be colored in).

The players will take turns coloring the remaining shapes, with the DMO having thirty seconds to choose who goes first in the first match, and the match loser choosing who goes first in the next matches.

Color Theory will be played as a best-of-three series.

COLORING THE BOARD 🖌️

On a player's turn, they will color in a shape using one of four colors: Red, Blue, Yellow or Green.

Please let the hosts know if these colors do not work, and we will change the palette to suit the players involved.

Shape coloring has the following rules:

❌ The shape a player chooses to color cannot border a shape that is already colored in.

❌ A player cannot change the color of an already-existing shape on the board (must color in a new shape)

Shapes bordering other shapes are intended to be visually determined, but I will provide a chart of which shapes are adjacent to others during the actual game for clarity.

If a player is unable to color in a shape, then their opponent wins the game.

To color in a shape, a player will indicate which letter shape they will color (A, B, C, D, E, F, G... AA, AB, AC, AD...) and what color they'd like to use (Red, Blue, Yellow, or Green).

They will have around 30 seconds to do so after the updated board has been posted. Players will receive a five-second warning before they are forced to enter reserve time. Each player will have around 2 minutes of reserve time in each game they can use as well, which resets after each match.

COMPLETING THE PAINTING 🎨

There is one additional twist. Instead of taking your turn, you may challenge your opponent to paint the full canvas. Then, your opponent has ten minutes to paint the remaining shapes using Red, Blue, Yellow, and Green such that no two shapes sharing a border have the same color. They may use an image processor like paint, or indicate to the host what color each shape should be shaded in a single text submission. There are no other restrictions on coloring.

In this case, if your opponent fails to paint in time, you win the match.

If your opponent succeeds, they win the match instead.

Please make sure you account for the time needed to upload/download images if you're using an image processor.

VICTORY

The first player to win two out of the three matches wins the game.

Good luck and color carefully to advance to the final four of Genius One.
