Surprise Twist
At the start of this Genius One, players were asked to play various minigames for garnets.
✅ Minus One
✅ Lphabet
✅ Outnumbered
Player placements in these categories will now be used for Social Stratego in death match one.
Social Stratego
In Social Stratego, players command an army to try and capture the opponent's flag.
Death match "duelists" will have one piece of each Genius One cast member. Additionally, players will start with 1 bomb and 1 flag. Players will submit an initial arrangement of these pieces privately on the grid in their designated red or blue-tinted "home area."
The Game
Duelists will be able to see where their opponent has set pieces, but not who or what those pieces are. Duelists will alternate taking turns. The death match opponent will go first.
On your turn, you may move one of your player pieces up to two spaces in any cardinal direction (up, down, left or right) in a straight line. You cannot move a piece onto a space that already has one of your pieces, or onto a water tile. You cannot move your flag or bomb. You cannot move a piece over your or your opponent's pieces.
If you attempt to move your piece into a space occupied by the opponent's piece, a "battle" takes place.
During a "battle," both player pieces are revealed.
The attacker will then declare whether their player piece will use that player's placement in Minus One, Lphabet, or Outnumbered to attack.
The defender will then declare whether their own player piece will use that player's placement in Minus One, Lphabet, or Outnumbered to defend.
Battle Resolution
Both numbers are then revealed. The piece with the higher number (worse placement) will be removed, while the piece with the lower number (better placement) claims the space. If both pieces have the same number, they are both removed.
However, there is a twist - if a player attacks (not defends) with a 12 or 13 against a player piece with a 1/first place in any category, even one not chosen for attacking or defending, the "first placer" is removed instead.
Additionally, if a piece attacks a bomb, both pieces are removed... unless the piece attacks with a 6, 7, or 8. In those cases, the bomb is removed and the piece stays in the board.
Winning
Players can win by fulfilling one of three conditions.
✅ You attack the opponent's flag
✅ It is the other player's turn, and they have no valid moves
✅ Twenty turns elapse with no battles, and you were the player that won the last decisive battle
The winning player will advance to Main Match 2 of the series.
Notes on set-up
Both players will set up their boards before the deathmatch takes place (in secret in their submissions channel.
Red will always move first, and blue will go second.

Is there a time limit on the game?
I will not be setting a time limit on game turns. Be reasonable with your turn times.
If more than 15 minutes have elapsed, I will start setting a 1 minute time limit for each turn on player request.
How do I make my turn?
Indicate the coordinates of the piece you are moving and the space you would like to move it on.
What happens if two times are tied, down to the second?
Then they're both given the higher number, and the next player is given a lower number.
For example, two players tie with the lowest times -> both get 1st, next time gets 3rd.
Why are all the pieces different sizes??? Is there some secret to the game related to piece size?
No. That would be a great show twist, but the pieces are different sizes because of how Google imports certain images.
