In U-Boat Shootout, each of the 4 players will control a submarine.
Each submarine has 3 health, and players will each be isolated in their own u-boat. Before the game begins, you will each secretly choose a starting location.
On your turn, you can do one of the following:
Actions will be processed in the above order,
Fire
On your turn, you can fire on any tile up to 3 tiles away in any combination horizontally and vertically. For each consecutive turn you fired previously, your range is reduced by 1. Your range cannot go below 0.
The blast radius is a cross, where the center scores you direct hits and the sides score indirect hits.
The tile you fire on will be announced publicly, and whether or not you scored a hit on a given submarine.
If you fire at an island and score a direct hit on it, you gain control of that island and gain the powers that island bestows until someone else claims the island by firing on it.
If multiple players fire on an island then the island's ownership remains the same as the previous turn.
If you score a direct hit on another submarine, you do 2 damage.
If you score an indirect hit on a submarine, you do 1 damage.
Move
In a given round, you may move up to 3 spaces up, down, left, or right. All players know your movements, but not your location. The board wraps around, so the left and right edges connect, along with top and bottom edges. You cannot move through islands.
If someone damages your submarine, you will not conduct your submitted action besides firing for that round, and instead you will have 1 minute in the beginning of the next round to submit an invisible movement. This movement you make will not be visible.
Ram
Ramming allows you to both move and attack on the same turn. If you choose to ram you will move up to three spaces and attack in the direction of your last movement (without moving into that space). You will ram that square for 2 damage, and as always your movements and the tile your attacking on will be revealed.
If a submarine is destroyed, all of the islands that the submarine controlled are free.
If your submarine dies, you must join another submarine. You will say which color you would like to join before the next round ends.
If there is only one submarine still surviving, the game ends. If 12 rounds elapse, each surviving submarine will have the numbers of the islands they possess summed and whoever controls the highest sum is the winner. In the event of a tie the winner will be the player with the single largest numbered island in their possession.
The captain of the winning submarine earns one mark of victory and three additional light spheres. The First Duelist is the most recently joined player on the losing submarine. ~
