Bidding 3D Tic-Tac-Toe

TBD

Designer(s): ISamEI Match Type: DM (for 2 players)
Featured in: EpicMafia Genius 2

In Bidding 3d Tic Tac Toe, two players will compete to win 3 consecutive tic tac toe boards. Each player will begin the game with 80 chips.

There will be 3 rounds of the game. A board is A, B, C, E, G, H, or I. A tile refers to one of the spaces within a board. You will bid chips on as many tiles as you want, but following these rules depending on the round.

Round 1 - You may not bid on any 3 consecutive tiles within a given board. (You cannot capture any boards).

Round 2 - You may bid on tiles within 2 boards maximum.

Round 3 - You may bid anywhere you like.

I bid on a space by saying the letter of the tic tac toe board and the number designating the position on the board.

So if I wanted to bid on the middle space in the board in the middle, I would say something like: E5 - 2 chips

Each player also begins with a base. One player plays as red, and the other player is blue. The Red Player begins with the D board captured, and the Blue Player begins with the F board captured.

After a round, I will check all the spaces players bid on:

  • If a player bid the highest amount on a space, they own the space
  • If two players bid equal amounts on a space, neither own the space

The amount of your opponent's chips remaining will not be revealed, but the tiles each player possesses will be. You spend whatever chips you bid, regardless of whether you actually win the auction.

If you own three consecutive tiles on a board, you control that board and no player may bid on any tiles in that board anymore. If two players simultaneously achieve three consecutive spaces, then both players will be considered to control that board.

Win Conditions

  • If you control 3 consecutive boards in a diagonal, column, or row, and the other player does not after a given round, you win the dm.

-If both players control 3 consecutive boards after a round, or neither player controls 3 consecutive boards after Round 3, then the winner of the deathmatch is whoever controls the most boards.

  • If the above is a tie, then the winner is whoever owns the most tiles
  • If the above is still a tie, then the game winner is whoever has the most chips
  • If there is still a tie, the winner is the player with the most garnets
