DM4: WORDLE-TAC-TOE

In this Death Match that steals from the very popular web game, players must win Wordles in an attempt to make 3-in-a-rows.

The Death Match will be played in bouts.

Each bout takes place on a 3x3 grid, with each "cell" containing a Wordle game. The corners will have 4-word Wordles, the edges will have 5-word Wordles, and the center will have a 6-word Wordle.

The DMO, @Myth, will select who goes first in the first bout, and each subsequent bout will alternate who goes first. Players will take turns inputting words into any open Wordle game, where "open" is defined as a Wordle game that 1) has not had its answer found and 2) has less than 6 guesses made.

Each turn, you may make 1 or 2 guesses on 1 or 2 separate cells. You cannot make both guesses on the same cell. If your guess is invalid, your word (for that cell) will not be accepted and your next turn will be skipped. A guess is "invalid" if it is considered invalid by https://hellowordl.net/.

If your guess is valid, I will display your feedback publicly. Green tiles mean your location and letter is correct, yellow tiles mean your letter is correct but its location is incorrect, and gray tiles mean your letter is incorrect.

Once there are no more open Wordles, the bout ends. Each cell is then won by a player as follows:

  1. First, if a player successfully guessed the answer, they win that cell.
  2. If nobody was able to successfully guess the answer, the player who made the guess with the most green tiles first wins that cell.
  3. If neither player got any green tiles, the player who made the guess with the most yellow tiles first wins that cell.
  4. If neither player got any yellow tiles, the cell is won by neither player.

After assessing who won each tile, the grid is evaluated. The player who owns the most 3-in-a-rows wins the bout. If this number is a tie or neither player successfully made a 3-in-a-row, the player who won the most cells wins the bout. If this number is also a tie, neither player wins the bout.

During the course of this DM, no outside resources may be used, including the internet, with one exception: you may use https://hellowordl.net/ only to check that a word is valid. Players are also not allowed to use calculators, programs, or spreadsheet formulas. However, you may take and use notes.

RESULTS

You win Wordle-Tac-Toe by winning 2 bouts before your opponent, or if your opponent runs out of time.

TIMING

Each player will have 2 minutes per turn, with an additional 10 minute time bank. The time bank does not reset across bouts.
