Assembly Card Trick

In this Main Match, design cards that others will want to bid for in the auction.

MM2: ASSEMBLY CARD TRICK

In this Main Match, players will construct the perfect deck of cards for the Dance.

There are 2 rounds. In the first round, you must design 1 to 2 cards. A card has only two attributes that you design for — its name and description. The name is the name of your card. The description describes the card's attributes. The description can be blank. Some design examples would be:

Name: Ace of Hearts

Description: blank

Name: King of Spades

Description: it's a card

The name must be longer than 5 characters and at maximum 30. The description must be at maximum 50 characters. You may pay 10 garnets to design an extra card.

There is also a garnet auction during the first round. Players may bid as little or as many garnets as they'd like to learn about an extra win condition. The winner will be whoever bid the most garnets — only the winner's garnets will be taken.

All designed cards will then be put on auction together, along with 7 pre-designed cards, for all players to bid on in the second round. Yes, you read that right — there is literally one auction round. Have fun!

Who designed which card is not revealed. All players have 1000 bid tokens to use freely on all the cards up for auction.

The player who put the second highest unique bid on each card wins that card and adds it to their deck. If two players tie, both players' bids will be ignored when calculating "second highest." However, if there is only one unique bid on a card, the lone player to uniquely bid on that card will earn it.

KYUNGHOON

Kyunghoon has a hard time designing cards. It's a creative task, and Kyunghoon is not the most creative person. I'll tell you exactly how you can guide him so that he can best TROLL you.

During the first round, you may tell Kyunghoon to design a certain number of cards. He will always NOT do the number of designs you want him to.

You may additionally specify certain card designs. Any words you use in the name, he will choose NOT to include in his cards' names. Any words you use in the description, he will choose NOT to include in his cards' descriptions. "Word" is defined as a string of contiguous characters without any invisible characters in-between, sandwiched by the start or end of a phrase or an invisible character. The final card designs of Kyunghoon will randomly choose words from a pre-established lexicon (removing any words that he is TROLLING with).

During the second round, you can tell Kyunghoon to bid a certain amount of tokens on a certain card — he will not bid that amount of tokens and will not bid on that card. You may only tell Kyunghoon to bid on one card — he doesn't understand the concept of bidding on more than one auction item.

INFORMATION

It will be publicly revealed who won each card, but it will not be revealed at any point in the game how much anybody bid on any card. The winner of the garnet auction will also be publicly revealed.

SUBMISSIONS

In the first round, submit card designs by specifying a name and a description. You must design at least one card.

In the second round, bid on cards up for auction by specifying a card and the amount you want to bid. To help with specifying a card, I will label each card with letter(s).

RESULTS

At the end of the game, you win a Token of Life for having your deck satisfy one of these conditions. If multiple people tie for the same condition, none of them win Tokens of Life. One person can win multiple Tokens of Life.

  1. The amount of cards in your deck is greatest.
  2. The total sum of numbers on your cards (both name and description) is greatest.
  3. The average number of words in your cards' descriptions is greatest.
  4. You have the most face cards (cards that have King, Queen, Jack in their name).
  5. You have the most Energy cards (cards that have Energy in their name).
  6. You have the most instances of Flying, Defender, Deathtouch, Haste, Hexproof, Lifelink, Reach, Trample, and Vigilance in your cards' descriptions.
  7. Your cards have the highest average ATK points in their descriptions.
  8. And a hidden eighth condition, that you can bid garnets on to win during the first round.

An extra Token of Life is awarded to the player who designs the non-pre-designed card who had the most players bid for it.

The Elimination Candidate is the player who did not win a Token of Life who has the least amount of cards in their deck. If this is a tie, the player who has the least garnets is the Elimination Candidate. If this is a tie, then the winner(s) will hold a blind vote, with the Elimination Candidate being the majority. If this is a tie, the winner(s) all lose their Tokens and the EC will be randomized.

You satisfy the "Grunkle Squeaky win-con" for this MM if you construct the deck with the most cards that did not win a Token of Life.

Clarification: If there is a tie for highest bid in garnet auction, all tied players are considered winners. I take all tied players' garnets and I distribute the extra win condition to all tied players.

Clarification: If you fail to submit card designs, I will pseudo-randomly generate a single card for you using the same lexicon Kyunghoon uses. "Pseudo-random" in that if the card is too gibberish I have the right to disregard it :thonk:

If you fail to submit any bids in the second round, you fail to submit any bids.

Clarification: For the ATK points condition, a number becomes "ATK points" if it is appended by ATK either to the front or back.

Addendum: I've changed "shorter than" to "at maximum," which was the original intent, for card name / description character limits.

Clarification: For condition 2, "number" is defined as any continuous string of digits with no spaces in-between, sandwiched by the start or end of a phrase or an invisible character. "10000" and "3" and "51" are all valid numbers; however, "5 1" will be parsed as 5 and 1.

Clarification: Descriptions are mere flavor text. They don't actually get executed.

Clarification (from god): Grunkle Squeaky the god has told me you are encouraged to make images for your cards, but they will be in addition to name and description and won't have any effect.

Clarification: Different language versions of alphanumerical characters will be treated as equivalent to their English counterparts.

Clarification: "Word" is defined as a string of contiguous characters without any invisible characters in-between, sandwiched by the start or end of a phrase or an invisible character.

Clarification: A single player can make one bid per card available in auction.

Clarification: You may design 1 or 2 cards for free. Starting from the 3rd card, each extra card will cost you 10 garnets.

Clarification: You cannot give or trade bid tokens.
