DM5: Square Route

The game is played over 7 rounds of 5 minutes. Every round, a grid of square tiles is presented (not any set size/shape), with each tile either having a digit from 0-9 or an expression of +, -, x, and /.

Players must try to find the longest route of equations that returns the target number. A route must have the following conditions:

A route must have a starting place that is a digit.

A route must not go over the same tile twice.

Every tile in the route must be within 1 tile reach either cardinally or diagonally from the previous tile.

Once the player declares the route, if the route forms an equation that equals the target number, the other player will have 2 minutes to find a longer valid route. If they fail, the player that declared the original route gets +1 point. If a longer route is found, the 2nd player gets +1 point. If an incorrect route is declared for the first time, then the player cannot answer for 1 minute. Any calculations get affected by PEMDAS. Going over a number 2 tiles in a row combines the numbers (ex: going over a 1 and then a 9 results in a 19).

Whoever has more points by the end of the DM wins. If there is a tie, the DMO wins.

Example: If the Target was 6, valid answers would include 2->+->4 (2+4), or 9-> - -> 4-> + -> 1 (9-4+1)
