DM4: Hexominoes

Before the game, each player will choose 3 Hexomino patterns each to "hex".

The game is played on a 10x10 board. Each player gets 5 cards each containing a Tetromino shape: T, L, S, O, and I. The DMO decides who moves first, then each player takes turns submitting one of their cards and where they wish to place the tetromino. Tetrominos cannot overlap any other tetrominos; but otherwise there is no limitation to where they can be placed. A player can choose to reset their cards once they use 4 out of the 5 cards given to them.

If a player places a tetromino in a way that it creates a hexomino pattern hexed by the opponent, they will be alerted but not told the specific pattern that was created.

Placement of tetrominos ends once the board cannot fit any more tetrominos, or a player wishes to end the game early. Ending the game early makes the player lose 10 points.

The largest group of orthogonally connected Tetrominoes are counted as the player's final score, with each connected tile in the group netting +1 point. However, for every "hexed" hexomino pattern present within the connected group by the opponent, every tile within the pattern loses 1 point in value. This can stack, going into negative values if needed. Whoever has the highest points within their largest groups wins the DM. If a tie occurs, the player who made less hex patterns in their group wins. If this is still a tie, the DMO wins.

The above image shows the shapes of T, L, S, O, and I.

Here is a pattern of all 35 hexomino patterns for reference.
