MM4: Crypto Crashers (7 Players)
NOTE: I do not promote any sort of cryptocurrency with this game.
The game uses currency represented in dollars, and 5 coins: Grunk Bucks, Nimushillings, Marcer Meticals, Amarupees, and Crawns. (annotated as G, N, M, A, and C)
Each player starts with $1000. The game takes place for 6 rounds and 1 pregame round, with each round taking place from 10AM to 3PM in game time. All decimals will be rounded to the nearest number.
On pregame, players will be able to obtain a total of 7 coins for free, including duplicates of the same coin. After the players all decide their coins, all coin prices will start at a value of ($200 + $500/total # of coins picked). Each coin will also start with a volatility of 20%.
Coins will change in value every hour proportional to their volatility, whether due to player actions or... naturally occurring events.
For every round after, players get an action for every hour, totaling up to 6 actions every round. Each round, players can do the following actions:
Buy: Players can purchase up to 2 coins an hour. If a player does not have the funds needed to purchase the coin, then their lowest value coin will be sold automatically until they can purchase the coins. If you have no coins, garnets will be exchanged for $100 each until you can purchase one. If you do not have garnets, you do not purcahse the coin. Buying coins will reduce their volatility proportional to the amount of coins that are held within it, to a minimum of 5%.
Sell: Players can sell any amount of coins in an hour. They will be given the full current price of the coins in cash. Selling coins will increase the volatility of it proportional to the remaining coins. There is no limit to how high volatility can go.
Research: Players can research for a hour at any given day to learn info about a coin's future. Researching in a round for a specific coin will give rough info on which hours and how the value and volatility of stocks will change (ex. Grunk Bucks will have a slight increase in value). Alternatively, players can research for a specific hour of the next day and get a general estimate of how much the stock value and volatility will shift. (ex. Coin value faces sharp decline tomorrow 2AM). Each hour of researching will allow you to obtain 2 pieces of info of your choice.
After every hour, the value of coins will rise by the volatility if there are more coins in circulation, or fall if there are less. Also every hour, the value of certain coins will change naturally. Research allows you to have a rough estimation of the scale and time of these changes, but not exact values.
At the end of each round, including the pregame, a public hint will be delivered that gives a very rough estimate of certain patterns for the next round.
At the end of the MM, all coins will be sold for cash and tallied. The player with the most amount of cash will win the MM and obtain 2 TOLs, and the player with the least amount of cash will become the EC. Players will earn garnets equivalent to 7-their ranking. (ex. first place earns 6 garnets, second place earns 5, etc).
@Player VERY IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION:
The "hours" in the game are NOT REAL HOURS; they are purely thematic and represent sort of mini-rounds within the rounds where you can take actions.
EXAMPLE:
When you submit for a round, you can submit such as:
10AM: Buy 2 G 11AM: Research NimuShillings Tomorrow 1PM: Sell 3 A 3PM: Sell 5G
Hours also represent when changes in stock naturally and player based occur.
@Player Some extra clarifications:
Coins have a minimum value of $10 each.
All decimals are rounded to the nearest whole number.
Each round, players will be told all the natural/player based changes that occurred in each hour but not how many coins are in circulation.
All changes occur at the END of the hour, or after every player action is factored.
@Player MAJOR AMENDMENT:
Starting from now on, if you do not have enough cash to buy a coin, you will simply not buy it. Garnets will be converted to $250 instead, but will be optional in your submission (you will specify whether you wanna spend garnets or just cancel the purchase). If a sell order later on is invalid because you didn't buy it, it will sell as much as it can.
Economy (The game involves an economy that players must manage.)
Investing (The game involves investing in items to earn a profit.)
