MM1: Addition Crypt

Is there a simpler way to start a Genius ORG than an addition MM?

Setup

There are seven nodes, each of which has a nonnegative integer value. When the game begins these nodes (A/B/C/D/E/F/G) respectively have values 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Node values do not reset between rounds.

Gameplay

There are seven rounds in this game, lasting 24 hours each. In each round, each player chooses two of the seven nodes in their submissions channel. Order matters: players will add 1 to the value of the first node, and 2 to the value of the other. Players also must designate one of their two nodes as the scoring node with an asterisk (eg: "C* B"). Players cannot choose either of their two nodes in the following round.

During Round 1, players can communicate anywhere, but all communications are restricted immediately after. For each node, all players who picked that node in a given round will be given access to a node-specific text channel. Players may then only communicate through their node channels, and may not use pair chats or other channels.

All additions are processed at the same time. The values of each node will be publicized at the end of each round, but player nodes, submissions, and scores will not.

After all additions have been processed, players will score points equal to the sum of the digits of their scoring node (the other node doesn’t matter). If there is a node with a strictly higher value than every other node, only the units digit of that node is used for scoring.

If a player fails to submit, that player will play their 1 on the lexicographically earliest possible node. They will also play their 2 on the next lexicographically earliest possible node. Their 1 will be their scoring node.

Variations

Round 1: Theme (No variation)

Round 2: Standout

Players who submit a unique set of two nodes earn an additional 2 points. Order does not matter (if you pick AB and someone picks BA, both of your sets count as the same).

Round 3: Increment

Players will instead add 2 to the value of one node and 3 to the value of the other.

Round 4: Small Business Write-Off

Players get an additional 3 points for each node they choose with a value that is in the bottom three at the end of the round. (Nodes which tie for a position that is not in the bottom three do not count.)

For tax accreditation purposes, all individual submissions will be publicized at the end of this round.

Round 5: Sixify

For this round, all nodes will be expressed in base 6 when calculating the sum of digits.

Round 6: Up is Down

Players will instead subtract 1 from one node and 2 from another. Nodes cannot go below 0 in value.

Round 7: Area of Effect

When a player adds 1 to a node, 1 is added to both nodes adjacent to it. (This wraps around; A is adjacent to G, and vice versa).

Example:

Suppose the nodes have values:

11, 12, 21, 23, 30, 50, 199

If you had selected each of these nodes as your scoring node, you would score:

2, 3, 3, 5, 3, 5, 9(*)

*This is because 199 is the greatest node; only the units digit, 9, counts.
