Minecart Robbery
In this Death Match, take turns attempting to mine treasure, while intercepting and stealing the other player's.
- This game consists of 3 mines and their corresponding cart tracks: North, Central and South
- At the start of each turn, each of the three mines adds one gem to its currently mined stash. Players have one minute to select one of the three tracks in their submissions channel.
- The Mining Player attempts to send the cart from one mine, containing that mine's stash, along the track.
- The Thief guards one of the three tracks, attempting to steal any gems sent along that track this turn.
- If the thief selects the track with an active cart, the thief earns the gems in play for that turn. If the thief does not select the track with an active cart, the mining player claims the gems that were on the cart.
- After the end of each turn, players swap roles - the thief becomes the mining player, and the mining player becomes the thief.
- A player who reaches 15 gems first wins the round; the first player to win 3 rounds wins Minecart Robbery.
- As DMO, Cora will choose whether to start odd numbered rounds as the thief or as the mining player. Zac will choose in even numbered rounds.
- Players have two bonus actions, each of which may be played once per round. Using an action is done directly in the DM channel, and resets the one minute timer for the round.
- Accelerate: Add an additional gem to the mine's stash of your choice.
- Join: Select two adjacent tracks. A cart that would have gone on the first now goes on the second instead for this turn only. (For example, if a player "joins Central to North", the gems from either the central or the north mine, if chosen this turn, would be captured by the thief if the thief chose north. Choosing Central would cause the thief to have no chance of stealing gems this turn.)
- A player who does not submit within one minute is assumed to have chosen whichever outcome would be worst for them, taking the opponent's submission into account. (The mining player failing to submit will have their gems stolen from whichever track the thief was on. A thief who does not submit fails to steal.)
