Epic Rap Battles of Trickery

Battle the other players in rap verse by purchasing exclusive rights to use certain letter combinations. Ultimately, the winner will be determined by their creativity despite the restraints placed upon them by everyone else.

You will use your garnets to privately offer a price for each ‘trigraph’ (group of three letters) on sale. Afterward, the offers will be evaluated and the sole player who offered the ‘leading payment’ will pay for and receive the trigraph. ‘Leading payment’ as in the offer of the most garnets for the trigraph — with a cap of 100 garnets maximum. ‘Leading payments’, however, will not result in receiving the trigraph — but all players that offered the leading payments will pay anyway.

Receiving and (also paying for) the trigraph will instead be the player who offered the 2nd most garnets. On a tie, the player who offered the 3rd most garnets receives it. Under the situation that no such player exists, the trigraph will be discarded with no recipients. Note that the tied payment leaders will still pay their offered price even if the trigraph is completely discarded.

Don’t use trigraphs bought by other players! Submitting a rap verse that does include another’s trigraph will be marked down. Even having one more mark than your opponent’s verse will result in an instant loss of the bout. Verses can otherwise contain anything as long as it’s condensed with four lines.

Every two rounds of auctions, four of the players will submit a verse in their submissions channel. Next, players will perform these verses against their opponent in the voice call. I will then judge which rap verse i liked better (provided that neither player instantly lost the bout through markings).

To count as marked, trigraphs must be contained within a single word. Existing across multiple words does not count as using a trigraph. “Most real” would not count as an ‘str’ usage, for example. “Strong” obviously would — but also words like “astronaut” or “nostril”.

Any player who wins the most bouts will receive one token of life with ties being broken by who won the battle amongst the tied players. No more than one token of life will be given.

Do note that quarnets will disappear after this round. With this removal, all quarnets now held will be automatically rolled.
