First’s the worst, Second’s The Best, Eighth is the one with the treasure chest!
In “Second To Won”, players will use chips to bid on items over a maximum of eight auctions. Each item grants players points based on its description.
The goal of the game is to obtain the second-most number of points. The player with the lowest amount of points will be the Elimination Candidate. However, don’t gain too many, because the game may end prematurely...
After a 24 hour pre-game period, each player will be given 40 chips. Chips may not be gifted to another player. There will be a maximum of eight auctions during the course of the game. At the start of each auction, a new set of six items are revealed. Each item obtained will give players points depending on it’s description.
There are a few different types of terms used in item descriptions - Remember that this is not a complete list and will be updated during the game as more are revealed
Adds the defined number of points to the recipient’s total.
Multiplies your point total by the defined multiplier. This can be a decimal. This is done before any points are given through addition. If your point total is a decimal number after evaluation, it will be rounded up to the nearest whole number.
Gifts the recipient the list of items that will be given out on the defined Auction.
Does the defined action to your own point total.
Does the specified action to a player of your choice. This player cannot be yourself. The player of choice must be clarified during your bid.
Does the specified action to every player but yourself.
Gifts the recipient the defined number of garnets.
Here is an example of an auction listing:
🇦 +15 points to YOU
🇧 +25 points to YOU
🇨 x1.5 points to YOU
🇩 +25 points to CHOICE
🇪 +10 points to OTHERS
🇫 +40 points & 2 Garnets to YOU
Players must submit a bid for at least three of the items on auction. To place a bid on an item, send the corresponding letter emoji to all items you wish to take and the number of chips you’d like to bid on each one. Any bids placed must be worth 1 chip or higher.
The player who submitted the highest bid for each item will obtain it. Any players who lose a bid will have their chips returned to them. If no players bid for an item, it will be discarded. If there is a tie for the highest bid, all tied players will receive the item.
Garnets may also be used for bidding. Each garnet is worth 3 chips. Any Garnets bid, even if you didn’t win, will be discarded.
The winners for each bid and each player’s point totals will NOT be made public. However, players will be informed of their own point total and of any auction items they won the bids for.
The player with the second-most amount of points will receive 2 Tokens of Life. The player with the most amount of points will be ineligible to receive a Token of Life. The player with the least number of points will be the Elimination Candidate.
Players who are, at maximum, 5 points away from last place will receive 10 garnets. For every 5 points a player is away from last place’s total, 2 less garnets will be given.
If there is, somehow, a tie for first, all players in the lead are ineligible to be gifted a Token of Life. If there is a tie for second, all tied players will receive one Token of Life.
If all players tie for first, no players receive Tokens of Life. The EC is determined by the player with the lowest score after Auction 7. If there's still a tie, the tied players will be judged on the Auction 6 scores, then Auction 5, etc. If there's still a tie, the players are deemed insane and all tied players are EC.
HOWEVER, if at any point during the game a player totals over 200 points, they will be the Elimination Candidate instead and the game ends prematurely. If more than one player totals over 200 points at the same time, the one with the highest overall score is the Elimination Candidate. All players over 200 points are ineligible to receive a Token of Life.
The player with the most points without totaling above 200 will receive both Tokens of Life. The player with the least points is ineligible to receive a Token of Life.
